Not just games. They've already turned streaming into microtransactions. "We're putting ads on this, but if you don't want to watch ads just pay more money." Of course, some events will have ads no matter how much you pay. Tivo (remember Tivo?) is taking away the very ad-skipping feature that made it popular. But....if you pay even more you can have it back!

How long until we see:
"Like the first two acts of Doomsday? Pay just $3.99 to see how it ends!"

Cars are like this too. "This model comes with heated seats and remote starting. And if you want to use them, just pay us $14.99/month...forever."

BMW, IIRC, being the most recent to try this out locking out physical features built into the car already via a pay wall.

I believe the pushback was swift and they caved.
 
Someone purchased 3000 oil futures contracts (valued at $275 Million) shortly before the markets closed on Friday, gambling that there would be an escalation in oil prices over the weekend.

For every dollar oil rises, these contracts would pay out $3 Million to the holder.

We did attack three oil tankers in the Strait on Saturday, but I don't think that'll move the needle.
