2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

NY gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman under fire for ads featuring AI produced content of Kathy Hochul doing stuff that she never did, and the person in the video isn’t even Kathy Hochul. When he was asked about it, he defended it by saying “My campaign produces a lot of different content”.

The latest attack on Abdul is that his CJ policy of reviewing the cases of perps convicted when they were minors (which goes unstated in the ad, of course) is going to let murderers and rapists out of prison.

I highly doubt such offenders will qualify under the "low risk" provision of said policy. But sure, play into whitey's fears, it's a Detroit tale as old as time.

Yeah they're college educated (first in their respective families, of course). Combine that with Good Times Boomerism and they want to gravitate towards their idea of a middle ground.

For example, my mom voted for John B. Anderson in 1980, who was definitely considered a country club Republican in his day. His platform (pro-higher ed, antitrust, pro-environment, opposition to income tax cuts, pro-gas tax hike, pro-ERA, pro-gay rights, pro-choice) would get him labeled a raging communist today, despite his typically Republican positions of energy deregulation and support for balanced budgets/entitlement spending cuts. I firmly believe she's been disillusioned with most candidates ever since.

For his part, my dad was really impressed by Mike Duggan's efforts to turn Detroit around, and is still salty that his independent campaign went nowhere.

They have a radio version of this one too. Two women talking, something along the lines of

"Did you see Abdul's website?"
"Yeah, I knew he was liberal, but I didn't think he had such destructive policies"
"Can you believe he put that in his actual campaign?"
"No. He's way too dangerous for Michigan."

I was 3 months too young to cast my first vote for John Anderson.

Not to mention, his parents and their doctor made the decision to mutilate his penis all by themselves, with no government consultation or interference, and no input from him either.
