UFC CEO Dana White, I guess. I never would've known, I had to look it up.Is the fat bald guy in the Dodge commercials someone famous with conservatives? I'm assuming since it's for Dodge it's aimed at piss-poor wannabe tough guys?
I learned that those offers are a crock when I bought my first car with an 810 credit score. It was a 2012 Ford Fusion, and the only reason I got 0% was because I agreed to take one of their overstock of off-white ones that they were desperate to unload before the end of the model year.Car commercials that advertise that "well-qualified" buyers get 0% financing and monthly payments of $200 are absurd. Hyundai is advertising incessantly during the US Open. Practically no one qualifies. What even people with the best credit end up with is a 5% loan and $500 a month. The average person will have to give up a kidney to afford the financing.
Exactly...Once they've settled on a car they want, most people aren't willing to play hardball or walk. That's why they push you to test drive as soon as you arrive and start casing the lot. That's also why I prefer to window shop on Sundays, when dealerships are usually closed - no sales pressure.
Growing up I had two auto dealer uncles/cousins in the extended family (one of whom is huge nationally), and I've hung around enough dealership showrooms to overhear sales managers advising their people, "That's our final offer - if they won't agree to XYZ, walk 'em." If you make it clear that you know the monthly payment game they like to play and that you want to know the exact terms of any loan, some shops will simmer down and play by your expectations, but others will still try to play games with you. Those are the shops you have to be willing to walk away from and go somewhere else where you'll be more respected.
I thought Jerry Lundegarrd was.I only buy cars from Phil Baharnd, the king of...auto sales in... Fargo...
