I suspect that what he may be referring to is a live feed that the Frear rink has that he was able to connect to.For a RPI practice?
Yeah, practically every community or public rink in the country has their live feed of the ice on Live Barn, so I'm sure Frear Park is on thereI suspect that what he may be referring to is a live feed that the Frear rink has that he was able to connect to.
I guess I'm getting too old to keep up with all the ways the modern world provides to spy on each other. Like jstadts I assumed it was a reference to a drive by at the Lansingburgh rink.Live barn. Streaming service
I am a little concerned about the completion time line of this.I swung by HFH today...there was a hardhat meeting going on behind the rink. A loader was moving the fluid totes staged in the parking to the rear area near the chiller. The totes contain glycol...so it would appear they are getting ready to charge and fire up the new chiller.
I don't disagree. I can only go by what was said at the golf outing. The Ice is supposed to go in starting on 9/11. I'll feel better when the new boards and glass arrive on site. The women are supposed to christen the place with their home opener on 10/2..we'll see.I am a little concerned about the completion time line of this.
There is a watch link to the right right of the schedule page on the athletics website so they must have been at least planning to stream the game.RPI football opens their season on September 5th hosting WPI at noon. I have not found any link to a streaming broadcast as yet but am hopeful that they will have this one on YouTube or RPITV. Hoping for a successful season but some rather difficult games on the schedule including Utica, Ithaca and as always Hobart and Union.
I think we have a good chance of winning 15-16 games. Next year 18-20Just for fun, looking at our schedule, anyone want to take a stab at predicting our record this season? I know we’ve improved a ton but I feel like a lot of other teams have as well. The talent level is definitely higher but we do lack college hockey experience. Curious how that all shakes out.
I agree with Engineers saying 15. I'd say 15-15-2 regular season. 7-5 with weak non-conference schedule, 8-10-2 in conference finishing 7th or 8thJust for fun, looking at our schedule, anyone want to take a stab at predicting our record this season? Perhaps i have had too much cherry and whit vodka to drink but I would be a tad more optimistic. i would predict a little closer to 20 overall wins (18 sounds about right) and reversing your numbers in conference to 10-8-2 finishing just out of the bye positions at 6th or even 5th. I think it may be time for this esteemed institution to offer one more major to the curriculum. Perhaps adding a program offering a degree in Publicity??There is a watch link to the right right of the schedule page on the athletics website so they must have been at least planning to stream the game.
However, when you click on it a message comes up saying that the link will be updated on the Monday before a home football game. For this week that did not happen. So who knows what Saturday will bring.
Also noticeable is that there is no reference of any kind to what has been a staple of over four decades (over five for hockey) and that is radio coverage of sports. Zero reference also includes the upcoming broadcasting schedule on the radio station's website itself which has absolutely nothing listed for any sports coverage of any kind including hockey. If so and acknowledging the fact that radio becomes more and more obsolete with the addition of every new medium that comes along, it will nonetheless be missed. Add to that the cost of travel expenses for personnel to put stuff on the air and maybe, however annoying it may be, it is time to pull the plug.
How costly??? For just four away football games, a quick for myself traveling solo in my head calculation for all expenses involved in operating a car and adding hotel or Airbnb for round trips too far to cover in one day adds up to possibly closer to $2,000 as it does to $1,000 which does not even include food!!!
Unless the ECAC is going to drop one opponent from the regular season you are off by 2 (22 league games and 34 conference games). Oddly enough my initial estimates were precislely two games higher so I guess we are going to sweep that mystery opponent - going 10-10-2 in conference and 7-5 outside for a total of 17-15-2. The really optimistic me wanted to make the non-conf 8-4 or even 9-3 since half our games are against Atlantic Hockey level opponents (putting LIU in there) and even our major conference opponents are from the bottom half of the table. However, I've been burned repeatedly with that kind of logic over the last couple of decades so I went the more conservative route.I agree with Engineers saying 15. That's what I get for posting in the morning. Not sure which teams I was missing either. I'd probably say 15-17-2 then to sandbag a bit, but I expect the 15-16 range. Mostly because I would put us 7th in the league so slightly below .500 there (9-12-1 or 9-11-2 range).Unless the ECAC is going to drop one opponent from the regular season you are off by 2 (22 league games and 34 conference games). That would be awesome! Ohio state will be a good test. If we split the series with them I would say we have something going here. Pretty sure Princeton swept Ohio state last year at hobey rink. Maybe we do the same in Troy? I will say I haven’t been this excited about a RPI season in a long time.Perhaps i have had too much cherry and whit vodka to drink but I would be a tad more optimistic. i would predict a little closer to 20 overall wins (18 sounds about right) and reversing your numbers in conference to 10-8-2 finishing just out of the bye positions at 6th or even 5th.
