Watching the shareprice drop on the dashboard on the call. I don't know if that's Benzinga or the SPCX feed itself, but it's funny.

Side note: what I find interesting is the absolute cratering of the markets during the Pandemic are not even a blip on the look back at the markets. We've just memory holed that drop and recovery.

CNBC shows anything older than five years as just quarterly updates (similar to my experience with even my current 401k tracking), so the big drop in February is book-ended with a low point in December and an improving March number that climbs into June.

Polymarket and other prediction markets are feeling the heat from lawmakers who want them to remove the ability to gamble-err... place predictions on wildfires.

The court date for the states trying to block the Paramount-Warner merger has been set for March 2027. It is expected to start the 2nd and take up to 12 court days. Then the judge will make the ruling. That means Larry will owe WB stockholders over $1 billion before the judge even gets the case. And if the states somehow lose (which doesn't seem likely) they will doubtless appeal. Plus there are several other court cases and legal entanglements in the US and Europe. I don't see any way this deal gets done by 3 June. Hope Larry has his checkbook ready...

Oh, and ORCL is down 2% today and a whopping 57% since September...

I’m not sure how to read the tea leaves- imho, the states are correct that prediction sites are just gambling and should be taxes as such. But this corrupt admin may let them pass just for the sake of it. Let alone they could push it to scotus to make them legal with their corrupt body.

Their issue is that people could bet that "A wildfire will start on Isle Royale on August 7th" and then.... get on the boat and start a wildfire to collect their winnings.
