The Ellisons may decide it isn't worth it. If it doesn't go through this fiscal quarter (and it won't) Larry has to fork over $650 million to the WB shareholders every quarter until it does close. If for any reason it doesn't, he owes $7 billion. Incidentally, he owns 44% of Oracle which has seen a catastrophic six weeks on the market and he may no longer have the money to finance a $110 billion acquisition (on top of his other financial commitments). The credit ratings firms have already downgraded Paramount to junk status.
