Technically, this will only matter for nonconference games. How can someone, even a court, force someone to play someone else? Just look at the failure to get USC and Notre Dame to keep their football rivalry going. No one can force those two to play each other.

We've all seen some teams, sometimes due to coach's personal grievances or travel issues, refuse to play another team. Heck, I've seen it at the D3 level. Outside of conference games and national playoff games, if someone doesn't answer the "scheduling phone" what can the courts really do? (Other than if there was already a contract lined up for a particular game.)

If anything that's bad for them. At least at Tier 1, Law School people hate the undergrads nominally associated with their LS. Probably stick them just to make up for being turned down when they were creeping on frat parties in their late 20s.

Considering the season ends in January, I doubt the school gives a shit about the appeal. By then the school will have moved on to a new $7 million QB (inflation!) and Sorsby will be trying to explain to NFL coaches why he should be allowed to play.
