RPI 2026 Off-Season: Please Pardon Our Appearance As We Upgrade This Area

Portal day tomorrow. My predictions are for Bruveris, Jovanovic, Goffredo, VanDamme, Lemieux, Kyrkostas, Gorton, Gordon to enter. We will see

Don’t think Jovanovic or Goffredo go. Remember, Jovanovic hasn’t played in 5 years and got limited time, then had surgery again. No one’s going to take that risk IMO. Eric is willing to be patient if things work out. Goffredo will stay I believe. He had his chance during the mass exodus last year and didn’t go, and he wasn’t cut by Lang, that says something. In addition his sister is still at RPI I believe, I haven’t checked the women’s portal. If she goes, I believe he will too, but I don’t think either one of them leave without the other. Who knows though really, everything with the portal is stupid. I think you’re spot on with all the others though.
 
Might be surprises all over the place. But should be a lot of overall activity since it is only open for a relatively short time. RPI girls only had one lady list and so far, no takers. For the boys, nothing would surprise me but there are many I do not want to lose. It took coach Lang most of the season to get 19 newcomers into the system and playing together as a team. From what i could tell, there was considerable progress. Woudl hate to have to start all ovr again and would love to see them build on the nucleus now working together.

He couldn’t afford to cut that many players last year which is why goffredo was still here. On our podcast, lang all but said jovanovic was getting cut

Although the only true disappointment for me is Wallace (and to a lesser degree Lemieux), I am a little concerned that we are, when all is said and done, apparently going to have nearly as much turnover as last year. With the 4 from senior night plus these nine, and I presume a goaltender to follow (unlikely we'll carry 4 after McCallum's commitment), we're going to have at least 14 newcomers. We're down to 3 returning defensemen, all of whom just completed their first season in Troy. I thought it took until nearly February before the team started to come together. I hope it won't take that long this season. Fasten your seatbelts.

IIRC correctly, Coach Lang said in the FH podcast that he was looking for about 4 more players. I see 8 on Ralph's list that are likely to come in this summer. That's 12. With, by my estimation, at least 14 going out, I wonder if there were a few surprises for the coaching staff.
