UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Things are segregating for sure. Denver and ND have hockey money too like the big 10.
Although with these new alfond ticket price hikes there should be hockey money to spend at umaine - will it all go to hockey???

Just fyi on what continues to brew slightly.

There's been a lot of push back on this idea. Particularly the separate championships. IMO if you aren't D1 in whatever system, there's little point in investing in the program. We would see basically the entire AHA disappear.

I’d be very surprised if the increase in ticket prices benefits the hockey program. I get that the department/school is in dire straits financially and there are no great options, but I think they would be better off being transparent as far as where the money is going.

Season Ticket Holder emails went out. I see the new pricing and maps have been posted.
We don't yet know the schedule, so a per game price is not yet available.

Highlights from the email:

Renewal begins 14 April and will conclude 15 May.
Relocation will begin 27 May and conclude 5 June.
There is a cap of six seats per account. If you currently have >6 they will be in touch to discuss options.
Current STH will not be able to add new seats to their account (ouch).
A new designation of "premium" games (think Boston College, Providence etc) will be introduced and will have everyone's favorite: dynamic pricing!
Of course this will include UNH(?)

In seasons when they come to Alfond, yes. This season Maine should be playing in Durham. Same with BU.
I imagine dynamic pricing will apply to any Hockey East game, as well as any NCHC or BTHC game going forward. Only the Holy Cross and Lindenwoods of the schedule will be exempt (for now).

With motew leaving and marque - josh and frank out thats what at least 8 known to be replaced.
Who else will go?
At least 2 -4 more Id say.
Another rebuilding year!

It'll probably be that way EVERY year. for most teams.

Hell, as was mentioned above, "Michigan" won an NC last night without a single Michigan recruit on the floor... Only NIL paid-to-play transfers.

Might signal the end of programs like Maine (or anyone in Hockey East) winning Jack Shit. And the NCHA might well follow. Neither conference has any football/hoops money to trickle down to mere college hockey.

Yeah i dont disagree.
Its a new world, for now

Assuming no changes to the HE schedule rotation, the following should be at Alfond next season.

Boston College 2
Boston University 1
Massachusetts 2
Lowell 2
Northeastern 2
Providence 2
Vermont 1

Maine would have the following on the road:

Boston University 2
Connecticut 2
Lowell 1
Merrimack 2
New Hampshire 2
Providence 1
Vermont 2
