Norbert. Incredible, huh? But he's gone now. He harassed the players and coaches. Troubled guy.
There's a few more that said they are quitting posting, which is good. Took some time but I'm getting some of the more troubled people off this Board.
This will be a really positive place when a few more call it quits.
That’s fair, I can see it both ways.I always find this to be an interesting discussion. There have been many animated college hockey coaches and most can get hot during games. However, arguably the best current college hockey coach is David Carle and he is generally reserved and cerebral.
Even today during the DU vs WMU game Pat Ferschwieler was more reserved, still intense and very controlled on the bench. They had a quote from him today "Nerves are for the unprepared".
Both Carle and Ferschwieler are clearly detailed and demanding. Yet they aren't the animated style you are noting, which was the style of Parker and Walsh and pre heart attack Umile.
Both styles can be successful. Everything else the coach brings to the table is very important. Unfortunately, results on the ice says Souza has none of the necessary "IT".
Don't get too full of yourself. It is the time of year many of us go do other things.Norbert. Incredible, huh? But he's gone now. He harassed the players and coaches. Troubled guy.

Absolutely love David Carle. Love his backstory, love him as a coach. The guy gets it. Whenever he does a podcast or an interview it is must listen/read.I always find this to be an interesting discussion. How is it harassing them when players actually seek him out after games to shake his hand, thank him for coming, and make conversation? Actually just had a conversation with a player the other day about how they think Norbert is a great guy. Just goes to show how you literally have no clue who some people are on this board or their relationships to the team. I don't know why you take every critique that others make so personally. It literally doesn't affect you at all.Norbert. Incredible, huh? But he's gone now. He harassed the players and coaches. Troubled guy.

That is a great interview. Particularly the scoring vs defending part, Carle highlights several times. I think that scoring vs defending lesson is something Umile learned in 1998. Michigan just suffocated a fantastic UNH offense, without giving up their own offense. After that UNH defended better.Absolutely love David Carle. Love his backstory, love him as a coach. In case you haven't read his most recent interview:

Q&A With ... Denver Coach David Carle
On his team's growth, the Olympics, and a variety of important college hockey topics.www.collegehockeynews.com
Couldn't agree more. You could see the commitment to defense right from the get go starting in the 99 season.I think that scoring vs defending lesson is something Umile learned in 1998. Michigan just suffocated a fantastic UNH offense, without giving up their own offense. After that UNH defended better.
I was really impressed with that Duluth team. As tenacious an approach as I've seen in college hockey. Reminds me of the style Brind'Amour has his Carolina teams play. I was hoping they'd knock off UM.I wonder if this will catch up with Michigan or UND both dynamic offenses that don't appear as disciplined on defense. Both blitzed there opponents early, although Duluth finally made it game in the 3rd.
Emily The Flunky: You have no sources. You're the one that attacked Conmy personally. You are very much the problem with social media. If you folks hadn't made it personal and attacked the players personally and Souza personally (about his marriage) this would be a different place. I haven't even addressed the garbage written about Rich.
You and the flunkies (Buford, Elwood, Meathead, and TheDumbCat primarily) are typical, run of the mill social media bullies. Lousy jobs, lousy marriages and you have a disturbing relationship with UNH hockey. You even have imaginary, delusional relationships with the players (they roll their eyes it you fools). One poster (you don't seem to even know my gender, btw.......) puts you in your place and you folks flip out. It really is funny. Buford actually has been trying to locate me in Maryland. Yeah, he really is that stupid.
Anyone with an IQ over 50 can see Chuck Murray is a racist. It's EVIDENT by his posts. Why else would he call Coach Davis a DEI Social Justice hire without ANY evidence? He should be excoriated.
I've done this Board a service. I have the DM's from former players and UNH admin/coaches to prove it... They know precisely who I am.
Nobody has been more critical on this board of UNH than me. Nobody is even close. I just don't engage in racism and personal attacks of the players, coaches and UNH administrators. Hillbillies generally are incapable of intelligent criticism. At some point they reach for a rock. That's why Norbert a/k/a Meathead wished death to me. It's also why Buford cackled his approval along with Emily The Flunky. HIllbilly types are good at circling the wagon - and the cousin, but that's for another thread I suppose.Because apologists like you are about all UNH has left
Obviously much of Potlucks behavior on here is reprehensible but ignoring the behavior of those you claim as friends really eliminates any credibility you may have. The whole point of this board like others have mentioned is to debate things like coaching style and game play, share "inside" information, etc. From the moment you started posting you have done nothing but attack individual posters who don't agree with you, call them names, suggest they are unintelligent and poor (not even sure how that's remotely relevant to anything), make extreme accusations that they are racist, beat their wife??? or that they harass members of the team. So I can't quite understand how you can't see that YOU are the problem on this board. You've made it clear that you aren't a fan and don't watch the games, so I'm not even sure why you are still here.
Yeah loved Duluth. I was very impressed with Wisco. Neither stopped grinding. Just wished Duluth had started the game on time. They shockingly got away with it against Penn State, better goalie standing on his head is my theory.I was really impressed with that Duluth team. As tenacious an approach as I've seen in college hockey. Reminds me of the style Brind'Amour has his Carolina teams play. I was hoping they'd knock off UM.
I haven't ignored their behavior actually I have told some of those posters in private that some of the stuff they have said isn't ok.Obviously much of Potlucks behavior on here is reprehensible but ignoring the behavior of those you claim as friends really eliminates any credibility you may have.
Chucks remarks about Davis crossed a line and much of the way he refers to Souza is unseemly. Norbert said he wished Potluck were dead.
Unclean hands abound but only one person is ever chastised while the old guard gets a pass to behave as they'd please mostly with the "he started it" explanation.
Of course criticism of Souza is fair game, I participate in it, but calling him an "entitled bastard," as Chuck has, just seems uncalled for.Souza is a public figure and gets paid to do a job he's horrible at, so it's kind of expected he will face criticism. I still can't recall a time Chuck or anyone else for that matter brought in Souza's personal life, including his marriage. His criticism is directed towards his job but happy to be proven wrong if you can find me a post that talks about his family.
I think it is coaching, for sure, and it is the same challenge faced by BU. Both put some of the most talented teams on the ice in the country this season. So back to hockey and coaches... Did BC really just under achieve this year?
It just seemed they had loads of talent and could win just about anytime they fully engaged for the full game. I did only watch a few. So I don't think the problem was talent. Was it mix? Or coaching? Or?
It is a long off season so yeah discuss![]()
