Merrimack College: 2026 Hockey East Champions

Was so proud of your team and regardless of yesterday's result you should be as well!! 'Mack showed us that belief in 'Survive and Advance' was a noble cause...very inspiring!

Lots of teams sat home this weekend..you played NoDak tough. Take a bow! 👏 👏 👏
Dittos!!!!!

I knew it would be a tall task to try and take out the #2 team in the Country playing a de facto home game. Looked for a while that the moment was too big. ND scored on a juicy rebound (Max hadn't given that up in a while), and I thought, wow, MC's in big trouble. There were times that it looked like an ND powerplay during 5 on 5. They survived the 1st, and began to find their footing in the 2nd. REALLY quick whistle on what would have been the tying goal OUCH! 'Mack took it to them for the last half of the 2nd but couldn't get anything past Spunar.
Once NODAK got that second one, it was pretty much over. "Mack pressed, but Spunar was terrific.
What a great run over the last month!
Only 1 Grad student and 1 Senior. Gill has one more year of eligibiliy but it would shock me if he stays. Not sure about Lundgren. He's undrafted, but his stock has risen tremendously. Could see him jumping if the situation is right. Here's hoping that they don't lose guys through the portal, add some offense with the newcomers, and be right back in the mix next year.

Go Warriors!

And I believe senior Matthew Campbell has a season of eligibility left since he redshirted his freshman year

Upon further review, maybe Merrimack was the 2nd best team in that Region. They'd beaten PC in the HE playoffs, and had beaten QU earlier in the season, 4-1.
Okay, now who do I root for? Both UND and Western Michigan have former Merrimack players (Tyler Young and Zach Bookman respectively). Gotta go with Western.

Congrats to Max Lundgren for signing an entry-level contract with the Bruins, per Mike McMahon

Fantastic! Certainly did not expect him back for his Sr. season, so this is great for him. Will be to see the Bruins and Providence Bruins goalie situation next year. DiPietro has bee outstanding in Providence and could very well be the B's backup next year if they let Korpisalo go.
Merrimack has a highly touted goalie recruit from Latvia coming in (playing for Sioiux Falls in the USHL) and former AIC goalie Nils Wahlstrom and current sophmore Ryan Keyes will certainly have a shot.

Certainly hope the latter two get at least a chance. Couldn't have been fun sitting on the bench the entire season, but at least they saved a season of eligibility, and sounds like they were good sports about it based on Borek's comments. I remember Wahlstrom being a force back at AIC (RIP) and one of the first games I attended last year was the Keyes shutout of UNH. So, the talent is there
