Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

Now, don't let the good team leave MA and let the bad team come in for Saturday! They dominated this game and had tons of chances all game. Will they show up for Saturday? I sure hope so.

That couldn't be more wrong. Turnover leads to an oddman rush, Dartmouth moves the puck well on it and shooter puts the puck on the back weakside post and it goes in when the goalie is moving down the y in the opposite direction because of the puck movement. That is a much tougher save than most think, and that lateral back and forth movement for the goalie requires so much stop movement, push back the other way.

Also, that was the second shot on goal by them and bad turnover with oddman rush to boot. Hauser hadnt seen much action and then all of a sudden had to move to try to stuff a great shot after good setup.

Looked to me like he over-slid the play, was off his angle and then the puck went right by his glove. I'm open to the possibility that I saw it wrong.

Being the second shot he saw is irrelevant.

Hauser has some serious work to do on his mechanics.

It was a 1-1 game with 10 minutes left.

The Badgers were coming off of a home ice 7-1 drubbing by OSU, has been shaky on D the last half of the season and Dartmouth gets 13 SOG for the game and one goal? The midget that leads the nation in goals was barely noticeable - was he hurt?

Bucky hit four posts, missed two open nets, outshot Dartmouth two to one, killed them in the face-off circle, and still scored 5 goals - Dartmouth sucks.

How Quinnipiac lost to them is a mystery - that’s actually a really good program.

Man what a win, tight defensive game for most of it but the Badgers were the better team start to finish. I will be at Saturday game in Worcester (provided I can get through TSA at O'Hare for trip home to Mass), and am super excited to see the boys play. One thing to note from watching some of the MSU UConn game today is that UConn had 6 power plays through the first two periods before MSU reeled it in a bit. Definitely need to take advantage of those opportunities if they're given to us.

I'm with you on this one. Weak goal that I think most goalies in the tournament would have had.

That being said, limiting their shots like we did seems to be a good strategy...

Hopefully we show up Saturday.

Feels damn good to be sitting on a tourney win on Thursday night and enjoying the other games now.

Really solid outing from the guys, and seems extra satisfying that it was feeling like one of those dominate - doesn't pay off - get a bad break at the end games...and they just kept grinding and got it done.

Had to leave for a meeting after the 2nd period, was happy to get some positive text updates during the 3rd.

Agree with those who thought the announcers sucked. Wasn't sure they were even watching the action at times. Trying to make the interference call controversial was a choice, I called it from my couch the millisecond it happened. They also didn't seem to have any idea what the call was when Bucky got called for too many men...it was quite obvious by his reluctance to play the puck.

Play free and with energy on Saturday boys, and see if we can't snag a banner.

The back check was outstanding - not sure if it was hustle by Bucky or lack of speed by Dartmouth. I liked the jump in Finley’s game, Osborn was great, and Deering is a grinder.
