Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

In that Badger Hockey Digest, we even received a "keep trying to climb the mountain" reference from Hastings!
And dailies in the article on CHN! That article basically poo poos the Badgers chances. I like the underdog mentality.

“We're excited about the opportunity to go out to Worcester and play an incredibly accomplished team,” Wisconsin coach Mike Hastings said. “They’re about as hot as anybody in the country. They've played in some tight games recently, and I've got a tremendous amount of respect for the coach and the coaching staff and how they prepare. But when you play at this time of the year, you get everybody's best, and anybody that's in there has earned it, and they want to do the same thing you want to do. So our focus really is not going to change. It's our dailies and what we've been doing. And because we didn't get done what we wanted to get done in the big 10 playoffs, we've had more time than others, but the guys have done a really good job of managing that.”

He was an assistant there for 4 years. 1 year in which they played in the Frozen Four Championship game. Also played there. A Minnesota guy.
Pavs did a pretravel talk with the lads. When Oliver leaves, Pavs would be a guy I'd want on the staff (if he's interested). He'd be a heck of a coach for forwards and his leadership is unmatched.

Well said. Rooting for the Big Green here, but Wisconsin is a very good team and I expect a tight game. May come down to special teams, and if so 'dI give the slight edge to Dartmouth. Both teams have had lulls in the PP: Wisconsin's has been in a bit of one lately and Dartmouth was for the entire 2nd half of the season before getting a bit of a spark back in the playoffs. Dartmouth's PK has been better than Wisconsin's and that's been strong all season.

But that's on paper not on the ice. Plenty of variables and with 2 teams that are close in quality, who knows how it'll play out. Looking forward to being in Worcester Thurs to see it. I have always liked the Badgers, so it's an added bonus to get to see them live for the 1st time. Glad Cole Caufield isn't still there!!
Should be a great game! Two really well coached teams. Badgers have the edge with talent but big green might be the more structured team. Great goaltending for Dartmouth. Can’t wait

Badgers struggle mightily with a clogged up neutral zone against OSU. This scares me big time.
Dartmouth is good at this. Should be a good game. I give the edge to badgers but wouldn’t be surprised if big green win. I will say I wouldn’t be mad if badgers win it all. They’re my favorite team out west.

Nice period other than yet another soft goal by Hauser.
That couldn't be more wrong. Turnover leads to an oddman rush, Dartmouth moves the puck well on it and shooter puts the puck on the back weakside post and it goes in when the goalie is moving down the y in the opposite direction because of the puck movement. That is a much tougher save than most think, and that lateral back and forth movement for the goalie requires so much stop movement, push back the other way.

Also, that was the second shot on goal by them and bad turnover with oddman rush to boot. Hauser hadnt seen much action and then all of a sudden had to move to try to stuff a great shot after good setup.
