Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

One might think that the B10 would want priority to facilities for B10 tournament games on B10 campuses.

Just checked CHN and UCHOL and they differ in where the Badgers are going. Bracketology CHN is Worchester. USCHOL is West Regional meeting Denver. No thanks. Hope CHN is correct. Check the teams out in each.

I am definitely hoping for an East Regional, but there isn't going to be any "easy" regional. CHN seems to put the Badgers in Loveland only under some serious machinations by the committee. Either way, we will find out this afternoon. Whoever their matchup is, my preference is to avoid an "Ohio State" like team that mucks things up in the middle, and rather play a more "fast and loose" team...I think those matchups allow the boys to skate with anyone...and beat anyone!

Nice to see OSU is long gone.

Watched the whole Dartmouth game yesterday. My wife made a comment that I was thinking too. She said the game looked like slow motion and the women skate faster than these guys. And there was also more hitting in the womens game on Friday.

That's interesting because I was watching the selection show on ESPNU and they were saying how fast Dartmouth was.

The table is set for 2006 all over again. We're 50% there. Let's go RED!!!

I was surprised when they said that. Princeton seemed to control more of the game than Dartmouth.

Dartmouth is not a fast skating team but they're great at counterattacking from the neutral zone and have some guys that are scary good at finishing scoring opportunities. Their D, particularly CJ Foley (undrafted but likely to leave after this year), can also create quality offensive opportunities on the rush and from the blue line. The issue with Dartmouth is that they'll make some head scratching decisions with the puck that often results in turnovers and they're not a particularly physical team

I combed through some of their notable results this season. Worth noting their strength of schedule according to USCHO was 54th, for ref Badgers were 7th.

Non-conf
Home wins over Vermont, Merrimack (single games)
Overtime loss at UNH (also just a single game)
Home series split with Arizona State

Conference regular season (games played individually, not weekend series like B10)
Loss & tie with Princeton
Split with Quinnipiac
Split with Cornell (loss in OT)
Sweep of Harvard

Conf tournament
2 game quarterfinal sweep of Colgate
Semifinal win over Clarkson
OT win over Princeton in championship

Dartmouth has been more consistent over the course of the season, has 2 true superstars in Stavroff and Foley, and has better goaltending than us.
On the other hand, Badgers have a lot more experience against top teams, with the obvious B10 powers plus Western in the holiday tournament.

Don't you guys think it's pretty much going to be all on Hauser? If he goes, so does Bucky. If he can't make some stops, we're in deep trouble.

Stavroff has Geoffrion - Caufield like numbers. Badgers have faced a lot of B1G snipers, so it's nothing new, but which guy shows up in goal?

Also, I just remembered my password. Hola.

This is creepy, yesterday I was updating my sig and I said to myself....."whatever happened to Wisko McBadgerton" and here you are 24 hrs later. I haven't seen an Exile on Dayton Street post in a coon's age.........

If they give Dartmouth open looks, they are shooting at the cookies all game long. I'm hoping his injury was making him susceptible to the high shots and now he's healthy. They say they are fast, but eye witness reports say other-wise. Like any other game, play solid team D, pass the puck to your own players and stay out of the box. They can beat anyone if they do that.
