Motorsports 2026

I do find it funny that Russell absolutely loves the car now that nearly everyone hates it.

Max and Lando have both spoken out. Alonso has been shouting about it for a while, but no one is listening to him anymore. šŸ˜†

Lewis has come around to like them.

Max is a whiner, so I don’t care what he thinks- im sure he blames the rules that their car isn’t the fastest.

I haven’t seen him complain about the rules at all, just the car and how it needs to be driven to optimize lap times. ā€œFormula E on steroidsā€ is the quote, I think. He’s also pointed the finger at Red Bull for not having the pace of Mercedes and Ferrari, at least so far.

They’re all whiners, but no one holds a candle to Russell. Well, maybe that won’t be true this season.

He doesn’t whine when he wins. He whines when he gets passes, and when his car sucks. This is only his third rule set to drive to…. As for their power unit, his former boss decided to make one on his own, and now it’s not as good. Whine.

The power deployment adds an extra dimension to the driver, and how they do that matters as much as how they go around corners. So far, I find it interesting.

I’ve lost all interest in anything max says. He and Horner made sure that they whine most than others. And blame others for their mistakes.
See you just described Russell for me.

To each their own. I’m not a big time Max fanboy, but I haven’t seen him blaming anyone for anything regarding the new regulations. Only that Red Bull needs to be better if they want a chance.

EDIT: I should point out that I haven’t been pouring through every interview or especially race audio. In the case of the latter they all say stupid crap in the heat of the moment, especially Max.

I didn't realize there was so much lore between Lawson and Checo until post race comments were all loving how they bumped and banged for P15, and "the rivalry is still on after a year break." šŸ˜‚

Yeah, that was pretty funny. And I think it was for P16. Though, Lawson has rubbed a lot of drivers the wrong way. Which is interesting because quite frankly he doesn't have the record to rub anyone the wrong way. Maybe, that's been his problem... I can put up with arrogance as long as you back it up. Lawson has never been able to back it up.

I'm going to go on record to say Red Bull did not "not get it right." It may not be as good as Mercedes or even Ferrari (which I think it might be but never shown because Hadjar -- remember, he overqualified the Ferraris -- blew his engine and Max started from the back and had a fantastic comeback without apparently the ability to always recharge his battery). But it's close and I think with some development, we'll see the RBPT motor right up there for wins.

I agree with your last paragraph. So far, I am finding it interesting.

He’s laid pretty heavy into the new rules for a few years now. It’s seems that anymore he’s trying to make his past look correct. As for George, he has a lot of blaming of crashes before he gets to max level.
