Business, Economics, and Taxes 2: That's Why We Fight to Take the Means Back

A great many Scandahoovians, Germans, and some Irish. A great many blondes more natural than I see in most states and some redheads to give that eye a little punch.
I still remember Candice Bushnell, the woman who wrote the Sex in the City book, talking about her visit to Minneapolis: how she'd never seen such good looking people riding public transportation, she saw multiple people in one day who could have been Calvin Klein models.

I'm still looking for that bus

She must’ve been riding a daily commuter bus from Apple Valley, Woodbury or Minnetonka to Minneapolis, or she was really drunk.

When I rode the 477 bus from AV to Minneapolis, we had a lot of young Target employees, back before they had all their self-inflicted issues. They weren’t hiring women who looked like the equivalent of me, and they weren’t hiring many men, either.

could have been it!

I believe a lot of models come from this area (upper midwest) since we tend to be Scandi and tall. I only got one of those traits sadly. But yeah lots of norweigan and swedish farm boy descendants around

The Dow Jones has dropped 1000 points or more nineteen times in its history.

Donald Trump was President during fourteen of them.

The other five happened under Biden, with three of them happening in 2022 during the peak of inflation.

Another fun one, if you look at largest intra-day swing by the Dow Jones, of the top 20 most volatile daily swings, seven of them were to the positive, the other thirteen negative.

Trump was President for 19 of the 20 swings. Biden was President during one negative intra-day record swing.

How bad does it need to get before the knives come out in MAGA land? $6 per gallon? More?

Coincidentally, this is the exact number I picked this morning talking with Dr. Mrs.

I think the dam finally breaks at $6 -- somewhere between $120-150/barrel Brent crude, which peaked at 119.48 overnight before retreating back to $101.

Trading dropped 2% and the market isn't even open yet. That's good, right?

It’s already begun. The build up is slow, watched a guy tear an old Trump sticker off his car last night, asking why they supported him anymore. “He doesn’t care about us!”

They’re finally cottoning on.

They'll still vote for him.

Assuming there are meaningful elections...
