UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Rousseau has played well tonight. He played both games last weekend. Assuming this holds, which is highly likely, you would think he gets the start tomorrow if standing in HE matters to Barr. I feel like this shift to Rousseau was long overdue. There was a time when it was clear Boija’s was struggling and Rousseau was playing slightly better but not running away with the lead duties. However, Barr went to Boija consecutive nights for a while and it didn’t seem justified.

I feel bad for Boija, but this is big boy hockey and Rousseau deserves more starts now.

While Rousseau has been no world beater....I feel infinitely more confident that Maine can win a game with him in net.

Maine moves up to 5th. Finishing higher than that will be difficult. #4 UMass is +2 with a game in hand and will likely hold the tiebreaker advantage. They have to lose at least two of UConn, BC, @ UNH and Maine has to win vs NE, @UVM. A win tomorrow clinches at worst a 6th place finish.

Providence has wrapped up the #1 seed and at least a share of the title. BC and UConn are fighting for second.
