HOBART HOCKEY 2025-2026 REIGNING THREE -PEAT D3 HOCKEY CHAMPIONS

Friday night at THE COOLER against Buffalo State to see breaking the Cornell NCAA home ice win streak (64), remaining undefeated this year and getting ready for the first SUNYAC tournament game at THE COOLER. The Cortland game showed that the team can't rest and must attack every moment to reach the first SUNYAC tournament title and the NCAA Championship Quadpeat . GO SKATESMEN!

It is Official! Hobart Hockey Beats Buffalo State 4-0 and sets an NCAA record with 64 consecutive home ice wins at THE COOLER., surpassing Cornell's previous record. Mavrick Goyer gets his 4th consecutive shutout . :)

A little birdie told me the USCHO Weekend Review podcast just might mention this accomplishment...

Fredonia comes into The Cooler with attitude and plays tough all night in the first round of the SUNYAC tournament.. The Hobart offense finally wears down the Fredonia goalie and comes away with a 3-0 win as Maverick Goyer gets his 6th shutout to lead the team. Cortland up next on Saturday at the Cooler, having played us tough last week. Respect all, fear none.
  • Hobart won its collegiate hockey record 66th consecutive home game.
  • The Statesmen also extended their overall winning streak to a program record 32 games and their unbeaten streak to 39 games.
  • Goyer has not allowed a goal in 306:27 minutes and allowed just one goal in his last six starts. The five consecutive shutouts are the second-longest streak in NCAA Division III history.

The Cooler was packed as Hobart moves on to SUNYAC final after beating Cortland 4-0. Hobart remembered Cortland's 3rd period 3 goal comeback attempt in last game as motivation. .The team responded with the edge in shots 63-19 and playing fast but under control with only 2 penalties. Beaver ties the D3 shutout record and the Cooler win streak is now 67. Oswego next.

Looking forward to Saturday, especially since the D1 ECAC playoffs are running on Friday this week. No flipping back and forth this time around.

No slight intended for any of the other guys who are all pretty good themselves, but, the only bummer is hearing Baker say he will not be doing the Saturday game as he will be coming this way to Albany to do the lacrosse game and has no chance of getting back in time to do hockey. So Saturday will have none of those deadpan Newhart/ Jack Benny style jokes and puns like Hobart with a large lead abandoning their forecheck to play defensively and "leaving it to Beaver". Also no after two quick goals to put Canton away for the night offering that "the Kangaroos appear to have lost some of their hop". The same for a puck battle between a Hobart forward and another teams' defenseman named "Danger, Will Robinson". After listening to this guy a while, he grows on you.

Assuming the miss is due to some kind of in house priority thing that theaters the top guy to doing the D1 game over the D3 games??? Really can't imagine anyone who has a choice and is in their right mind ditching a day in Geneva to spend it in freaking Albany!!! The same goes for Schenectady or Troy too.

Tony, I’m in total agreement about Ted Baker , he is a treasure for Hobart fans although there are some “Homer” shouts from the opposition at times. His football, ice hockey ,basketball and lacrosse calls are classic. His wife recently passed and he has still announced during this difficulty. At least Ted will be there for the NCAA quarterfinal game at the Cooler.
