UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Their very good. Good place to go for a game.
If your old like me and want chair back seats their only on one end i believe. Everything else is benches.

I would add to this the aisles to get your seats are along the glass so if you’re in the first few rows you can have people walking in front of you during play. Other than that it’s a great place to go for a game.

There was another hockey fight that season or maybe in 91-92? Steve Widmeyer and guy from Lowell dropped gloves in ALfond

Another thing the local news got me thinking about was again in that same era, Measles. There was a game at Alfond where they weren't going to let you in without proof of vaccination , seems like it was against Northeastern? Late in the season, am I dreaming that? ACS might be the only guy that remembers that far back :)
In 1990 a measles outbreak hit campus. If it was late in the season it would have been against BU (regular season) or Lowell (the 16-0 playoff game)

The team just posted on Instagram that the game next Friday against NU in Portland is now a Maine home game, last change and all. How does that work? Wasn't it supposed to be a Northeastern home game? How can they just change that with like a week's notice? Did UMaine pay NU to agree to change it or something?
Seems to me maine got screwed on this. Now that its a home game future scheduling with NU will take that into account where maine will have to make that up with an away game at NU. Not to mention its not really a home game, its not at the alfond where theres truly a home advantage for atmosphere but also revenue.

In '92-'93 season measles was still around but the number of cases were declining compared '91-'92. I checked the schedule and Maine did play NU on March 12 and 14 in the quarter round at Alfond Arena. Good memory!
