UMaine 25-26: Marques My Word: Back to the Big Time

Give me a break.

Nobody who has played professional hockey should be considered a Freshman.

Guy shouldn't even be playing college hockey.
Well as they say, "dems da rules"....You can decry that all you want, but he was available to everyone. And let's be honest, a lot of players ARE NOW effectively professional given that they are being paid. He was just early to it.
The much discussed Gavin McKenna is reported to have an NIL deal worth $700K.

If that 700k is true, then might as well just have a big 10 conference as they are the ones with that kind of money to throw at a hockey program.

Rather than finding ways to win, this team only seems to find ways to lose. Not sure I'm convinced that Boija played great, he got lucky. The point blank glove save just happened to hit him in the hand, as he had zero reaction to it. Every other shot beat him glove side cleanly including the post.

Gameday (and game weekend). I think a split is the most likely outcome, but I think a UConn sweep is more likely than a Maine sweep. Getting at least three points should be the priority so as to not fall into critical danger of not even hosting a playoff game.

this year reminds me a bit of 2011 - really good team on paper that looks fated to win 17-19 games and miss out on NCAAs despite some really good top end talent. Not to excuse the fairly numerous deficiencies both the forwards and D have, but still think if you put a league average or even above average goaltending in net instead of Sullivan/marty & now boija / rousseau it's probably a way different story.
