WCHA 2025-26

I, for one, try not to be emotionally fiddling while Minneapolis burns. Keep the faith.
Because we're on the topic of international sporting events, I'm wondering how many visitors we can expect for the World Cup this summer. "Welcome to the USA! Just keep your papers handy, or we got some zip ties with your name on them." Luckily, nobody is counting on me to solve this or any other such problems. Maybe I should just try to be a little kinder to those who cross my path and take it from there.

Is this in response to "ICE in Minneapolis", or specifically to today's "Trump blocks visas from 75 counties" news reports today. 15 countries affected; Trump Admin reacted by saying athletes and officials are exempted, but fans are not.

There was the talk of women's volleyball that was objected to, I believe, in the sinners thread. I have no issue with that myself but bringing this politically charged topic on this forum I do object to...

Okay. If collegehockeynews is correct, SCSU rallied from two down in the third to win a shootout in Duluth.

They are correct. I was watching. The second SCS goal was interesting. St Cloud skater skating across the Duluth goal mouth, pretty much tripped by a Bulldog, falls into Gascon and her stick while Gascon was to the left of the blue ice, having blocked the puck away to the opposite side boards. While Gascon is scrambling to pick up her stick, a St Cloud player throws the puck from the boards into the net. Originally waved off, ruled a goal after review.

Waved off originally for goalie interference? This is when I really miss Shannon Miller; they'd still be arguing and wouldn't have completed the 3rd period, never mind OT or an extended shootout.

By one poster yes. We've also talked about the tornado hitting my house, Mustangs, the weather, health things, fishing but never politics. A political discussion would blow the 17 of us apart. I'd rather not see this little micro-world get destroyed. I've tried to talk politics in the uscho cafe, but are those people don't actually want a honest discussion about things. Typically just call you nasty names and make fun of you if you don't agree with them. I don't enjoy being Middle School again.

Kind of surprising to see the rodents and TWSNBN give up all those goals yesterday. Umd must not be happy with their last 5 minutes of the third period implosion. On top of that they lose the shootout.

Is it? After their victory over UW, the one thing that UM has managed to do consistently is allow goals. Yesterday, they just delayed their leakiness until the third period. I'm not going to go back and pour over boxscores, but my recollection is that tOSU's secret to success has been largely due to what Dunne and her friends can do, not keeping their own red light off.

Sounds a little sloppy and I thinking should bode well for the end of ncaa season chaos.

I think that is the point. We as a collective (the "17") do very well with what we are mostly here for and that is women's college hockey and more in general women's sports

I think if you look further into the stats and go down the list you see a lot of WCHA recruits, specifically of the top three teams. Bodes well for them...Not so much for others.

To me, the biggest recruiting change in the last 5 years is, it used to be the top players in Ontario went to ECAC schools, and now more of them want the WCHA.

I remember a college hockey tweeter said at the advent of the PWHL that maybe this would lead more players to choose schools where they could play big minutes right away, but it appears more that players are betting on themselves and believing they'll be able to work themselves up the lineup on the top three teams.
