It is hard to grasp but large masses of Americans are both racist/xenophobic AND not racist/xenophobic enough to applaud what Trump is doing. It's goldilocks shit, they want a level of racism/xenophobia calibrated exactly to their personal preferences, and you just can't make that policy. Don't try.

Does Tim Ganger regret his vote, yet? I bet not. His lesbian daughter was just a necessary casualty after her "pretty tough" actions of trying to leave the damn scene like she was told to do. Trump's goons took that 37-year problem out of his life, whew!
 
I doubt anyone regrets their vote. They're getting what they wanted. He's sad his daughter had to die, but at least Joe Biden and/or the black lady aren't going to be terrorizing his life.

This is exactly right. You've heard of Cafeteria Catholicism? The ideology of Trumpism is À la Carte Bigotry. His voters just don't find out until later that there's no actual nuance to it and that ICE will shoot the "good ordinary citizens" Dump voters purport to love just as quickly as they've shot anyone who looks at them funny or handles a confrontation with anything other than obsequious fear of their silly little badge and pea-shooter that they get just for scribbling on some paperwork.

My SO is acquaintances with some cop lovers who think this stuff is great. They think they are part of the club...and yes they are nostly White Males. But cops/ICE will kill them just the same and pretend tbey are ANTIFA after they do.

And the sad thing is Dems and their advisors are fine with it a long as it didn't get in the way of their donors staying happy. It is now almost exactly a week (to the minute) that Renee Good was murdered amd The Dems still arent fighting. Sure a few individuals have but the majority are fine letting Minneapolis be overrun while they negotiate a budget. (Which wont pass) The have told the most reliably Blue presidential state "good luck see ya on the other side!" so she died for nothing.

I dont think The Dems realize they are the ones fucking around and will find out. People are pissed and they arent going to just "vote Blue no matter who" anymore.

Just like this guy. He airs a podcast I would never listen to, and has no regrets for his vote. He just wishes (like my post above) that the level of xeno, and racism was in his sweet spot.
