Quinnipiac Bobcats 2025-26 - Viva Las Vegas!

You can bet Stonehill is going to bring their A game to Hamden on Saturday.
And that they did. What an ugly game. After the first 5 minutes we started slowing down. Seemed we stopped playing in the 2nd. The 3rd was as ugly as we've seen save for last few minutes. If not for Marinov's monster save in the final seconds that game ends tied and who knows what would have happened in OT.

Something is off and I can't figure out what it is. Tons of talent but they go for long stretches with no drive, no urgency, no killer instinct. We've let too many teams hang around for too long and it's almost been a disaster.

One more weekend on the road to close out the first half, hopefully with positive results.

Huge weekend ahead up in the Capital District. Hopefully, we'll see Wilmer and Silverstein back. Both are missed!

Side note, looking forward to seeing Union's new arena. I've heard nothing but great things about it!

Is Silverstein hurt? If so I must have missed that. Was wondering why he did not get a start recently. Curious on Wilmer's injury as well. I originally planned to see both games this weekend but am having minor hand surgery on Thursday. Saturday night may be the best game to attend but assume the arena is sold out. I usually try for last minute tickets later in the week.

Keep in mind Saturday's game @ Union is a 5:00 start.

Nice performance tonight by the Bobcats in the No Fun Zone! It was good to see the boys not play down to their competition and give a good performance all night.

(If you don't know the No Fun Zone, our first season in the league we went to RPI in the playoffs and a bunch of us students made the trip. Our little 30-person section was louder than their entire building as we swept RPI in the first round, and the administrators kept trying to get us to stop chanting, stop yelling, stop holding signs, stop standing, etc. The RPI football players were hassling some of our fans, so by the end of Game 2 we were loudly exclaiming the Houston Field House as the No Fun Zone. Core college memory).

Team thought it was already on winter break today? Dreadful performance. This team has the talent to go all the way to the Frozen Four, but they are miles off the consistency and the mindset.

It's wild to be complaining this much about a Top 10 team with a 12-4-2 record, but we have some absolutely ghastly losses that a championship team doesn't allow to happen.

Pathetic performance today. Absolutely nothing positive to take from that effort. About as uninspired as I've ever seen a Bobcat team. They've got 4 weeks to figure it out or it will be a tough second half.

I think the first half season performance was a C+ effort. The record on paper looks good but the losses are pretty terrible losses, and they also struggled mightily in wins against Brown, Stonehill and Holy Cross and had to scrap a tie against Alaska.

Definitely a Jekyll & Hyde team thus far. Hopefully the holiday break gives them time to heal and get ready for the second half. They have the talent... they need to find the hunger and desire.

I think this is one of the most talented teams we've ever had. They just don't have the mentality of the 2023 team or the 2016 team. They take too many shifts off, don't respect their opponents, and their mistakes aren't getting bailed out by the goaltender.

This is a very good team, but they're not overachieving like most do under Rand.

Cool seeing Bobcats alum Jordan Samuels-Thomas refereeing tonight's Rangers-Capitals game in DC. I thought he had a strong game, but he was paired with Kelly Sutherland so by comparison he was outstanding.

He did a couple of Bruins games in the past week. He's a decent ref and seems to have settled into the role quite nicely.

Hell of a way to start the second half! And against a ranked opponent. Let's keep that momentum going into a huge game against Reid and Dartmouth tomorrow. Would really enjoy a sustained stretch of this team playing to its capabilities.
