Especially not with the new transfer portal rules. "Sure, stick around and have unfettered access to talk to the top underclassmen for the next 4-5 weeks!"
He told his offensive staff to be on the plane for Baton Rouge or they're not welcome. He got Charlie Weis Jr as OC, his WR coach, and a few other, asst GMs, strength coachAlso, Lane asked if he could coach Ole Miss through the CFP and was professionally told to get the f out.
Ummm. That will never ever happen again after the coach who decided to stick with his team after the postseason game(s). Was it Georgia? I can’t remember. But that is never happening again.
I disagree. The former Idaho coach took a bunch of players when he moved to New Mexico- and they are winning a lot.Less likely to be a risk to poach players from Tulane to Florida than Kiffin from Ole Miss?
Idaho to New Mexico isn't the same as Tulane to Florida. You will likely lose the top 2-3 players, but not an entire recruiting class - the talent levels are simply too large.I disagree. The former Idaho coach took a bunch of players when he moved to New Mexico- and they are winning a lot.

The rest of the SEC wishes he would bring the Tulane roster to Gainesville!Idaho to New Mexico isn't the same as Tulane to Florida. You will likely lose the top 2-3 players, but not an entire recruiting class - the talent levels are simply too large.
They lost most of the team to New Mexico. Which is why the vandals went from a playoff team to under .500. Tulanes best players could easily go to Florida and do well. It would not take much to improve Florida a lot.Idaho to New Mexico isn't the same as Tulane to Florida. Florida currently sucks. Doing that would be a massive step up.The rest of the SEC wishes he would bring the Tulane roster to Gainesville!
And when Fleck went from WMU to Minnesota he took nearly an entire WMU recruiting class and most of them either couldn't cut it in the B10, or didn't see a snap on a rather bad Gopher team. They lost most of the team to New Mexico. Disagree. Tulane lost to the only ranked team they've played, 45-10, and also lost to something called UTSA 48-26.Florida currently sucks. Doing that would be a massive step up.
It still can be true that a “lower” coach can take his players to a higher school and make them better. Thats what old miss is so worried about.Disagree. Tulane lost to the only ranked team they've played, 45-10, and also lost to something called UTSA 48-26.
If Florida and Tulane played 100 times, Florida would be above .500 in those games. (and I'm a closet Tennessee fan, so I hate saying anything nice about UF)
I think JMU to Indiana is a giant exception. Cignetti knows how to recruit and IU had a very pedestrian schedule last season. Don't get me wrong - IU was a very good team last season. IU is a very good team this season too (I really want them to win the whole thing). I don't see any G5 team this season as similar to those JMU teams a couple seasons ago.Indiana fan here. Our best players are JMU transfers. Aidan Fisher, Elijah Sarratt…plenty of good players at the mid-level programs.
Mississippi isn't a level down, they're equals to LSU. That's the difference. It still can be true that a “lower” coach can take his players to a higher school and make them better. Thats what old miss is so worried about.
