Every article I read on this is all about his tweets and incredibly light on the killing of Christians in Nigeria. I know they have Boko Harem and the usual secessionist militias, but they in general seem like dicks to everyone. I mean, it's not like the government in Nigeria wants that kind of stuff, so I don't exactly know what the Nigerian government is supposed to do. I mean, it's Trump yelling about something and all, but I'm honestly trying to find where the kernel of this idea comes from, out of morbid curiosity.

Can't find the article now, but apparently it's not a religious thing at all, just a geographic thing. In the region where there is a lot of unrest and tribal/militia activity, there are indeed quite a lot Christians being killed - more than 1000 per year. But guess what? That region happens to be majority Muslim, and the Muslim deaths are proportional to their population. Nobody is targeting Christians, and nobody is targeting Muslims. Just your prototypical turf war between gangs.
