I guess the sky isn’t falling. I know some people want the shiny first rounders like BU but I’d take Poirier over Boisvert any day.

BU really brought the pressure after those two PK's in the third. No reason we should be sweating at all with 7 goals. But even with the clock they couldn't get out of their own way.
I'll never complain about a BU sweep though, even if there is still things to clean up.

Ritchie was whining all night long. BU is really good when they are on their game but Maine just wouldn't push over like most teams

this is a win-win scenario. Maine gets the win, and I get to celebrate the baby shark on BU who put up nearly half of his freshman year point totals in one game 
in seriousness, here’s one great sign for Maine- they did a great job keeping the top talent of BU off the scoresheet. the one line that was significantly productive in this game for the terriers was their 3rd line. only 3 players had over 2 shots on goal- the usual suspect of Cole Hutson had 4, 3rd line RW Ben Merrill had 5, and 3C Brandon Svoboda
with 7. those two were the only even strength goal scorers. Svoboda was also the only guy above 500 in the faceoff dot. BU’s first line was held off the scoresheet, not even an assist. that’s hard to do.
you love to see a langlois goal- his first since March 14th 2024
and two goals for san jose jr shark legend Max Scott!
Taylor Makar did make his NHL debut. his parents made it to the game, and he looked better than his brother did oddly enough! only got 6:07 TOI, recorded 1 hit. he was sent down immediately after though.

I couldn't watch the game live tonight. I tried to record it, and watch it after I got home, but my recording got cut off early in the third period, just after Maine scored the 7th goal and BU lost their (foolish) challenge. So I wasnt able to see most of the third period.
All that said, I was, generally speaking, honestly pretty impressed with their play this weekend. Despite all of BUs numerous flaws, that's still an extremely talented group of players wearing red tonight. But, Maine looked and played like a team this weekend, significantly better than both the Q and 'Gate series. Their resilience was top notch in both games, even when playing with the lead tonight.
All that said, I was, generally speaking, honestly pretty impressed with their play this weekend. I feel like the effort level was really high. Guys really never let up which was great to see. And offensively they gave BU fits all weekend.
At the same time I thought the goaltending was average where each goalie got better as the game went on after giving up a couple softies in first half of the game. So this is the easiest area I can see improving since Boija’s has proven to be a stud when he is on his game. And Rousseau is freshman so he will get better over time. I’m sure it can’t be easy making your first two games debut against the #5 and #7 teams in the country.
Most of what Maine appears to need is better play in front of their own net and stop turning pucks over. I think this is the area where guys need to get bench when they mess up. There are plenty of defensemen sitting out each game and would like to play and show their worth. I think Barr should implement a system where when a guy makes mistakes that wind up in goals against he gets benched for a game. It will put pressure on them to be better defensively and stop making turnovers.
But the creativity is much higher with this squad and it is a pleasure to watch this brand of Maine hockey. Maine isn’t there yet but has a lot of potential to become a juggernaut by postseason time.

Interesting game, must have been fun to be there. Neither teams goaltending was great but there was some action in front of them all game long. Rosseau looked pretty good in 3rd. Maines forecheck was unreal, where has that been? Maine had some issue with Amico, Fowler leveled him on Friday and others were trying on Saturday. Lots of trash talk going on with him.
Poirier goal from in tight was a goal scorer special, somehow goal scorers do that. He never gave up on that play and it paid off. It seems like Djurasevic was on the ice for every Maine goal(he wasn't but), not sure if he even had an assist though?

I feel a bit bad for Mannix cause he just gets too excited and it is annoying when he gets so loud. Has a high pitch piercing voice at times. Definitely miss Hannigan, he was exceptional.
Maybe they can use filters on Mannix to compress the high pitch moments and distort the frequency down so soften that piercing high pitch transitions. Mannix has a face for radio but the voice for newspaper yet somehow got the job.
