The first two periods were the best hockey game I've seen in years. The third period was the best Gopher game I've seen in years. They stepped on the Badgers' throats and never let up. It has been a very long time since I've watched Wisconsin become unglued like that.

Through eleven games, Murphy has been much improved. The cheap shots aren't gone, but they've been reduced by at least half. The diving and whining has been almost entirely excised. After a particularly egregious non-call up in St Cloud, she understood that she's capable of making her opinion well known with just a facial expression. If I'm going to nitpick, she still extends shifts, and there remain occasions when she is very slow to exit the offensive zone when the puck gets cleared.

I've been one of her biggest critics among Gopher fandom, but this year, dare I say, she's been delightful to watch.

The Gophers need to bank wins, because Wisconsin's trip to Minneapolis will be during the Olympics. Aside from any injury absences, Minnesota will probably be missing five players (Murphy; Primerano; Laitinen; Bouveng; Plosova).
 
Lots of head scratching positions and combinations last night.
Complete non sensical lineup leaving many observers to say WTF !!
It was like a game played with all players having just arrived on campus and the coaches not knowing who any of them are.
Put your best with your best and let them play.
Don’t play them at a position to appease outside forces…. There is a tournament in Milan to play them out of position !!

Wisconsin should get themselves a coach who knows *something* about hockey!
 
TWSNBN at the high flying Tommies. Tommies are brimming with confidence. - The flying Tommies ALMOST pulled of the upset in game 1, the other team was saved by a late 3rd period PPG to tie, then the Tommies got destroyed in game 2, which was predictable because they burned a lot of emotional energy on the loss and TWSNBN was NOT going to get taken to the brink again by an inferior opponent. Muzzy probably had the them swim 100 laps in the pool with parachutes on at the hotel.
Duluth at St. Cloud. - Bulldogs win game 1 despite getting outshot by 12 and survive a big push the the Huskies in the 3rd period of game 2 to win.
Bemidji at Mankato. BSU ties game 1 on a late 3rd period PPG and then gets shutout in game 2.
Rodents at BADgers. The BADgers play the worst period of hockey I have seen them play (maybe ever?) in the 3rd Friday night and get destroyed. Game 2 had no period wide meltdowns for UW and order in the universe was restored for both fan bases.

I only agree with your last sentence. The others are silly. Questioning the line combo's of the greatest coach who has ever coached women's hockey is absurd. Welcome to the board. Don't be a stranger.

Shocked to be experiencing a cave to the pressures from USA HOCKEY to play someone so far out of her best position and put the team at risk of failure to appease outside interests.
That’s just factual….
