BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Two questions:

Any update/info on Boisvert?
Was the offsides blatant or barely something that the refs missed? I don't think they showed it on jumbotron.
I thought it was pretty subtle, which is an argument for letting the goal stand, but the call on review was not unjustifiable in my mind.

Maybe they're reading these boards because Friday's game is now back to 7:00pm!! :) :) :)

And yes I know it's because the game is being televised nationally on ESPN 2 and not because they're reading these boards. As if there wasn't enough pressure being ranked #1 and playing #3. Now, national TV??? Oy.

I believe in your powers, Ms. Scarlet. I believe.

It's meaningful to PWR (or whatever it is now). I agree with BUPhD that they look pretty together compared to the last couple of fall seasons; I'm encouraged, even if they should have won the second game against Colgate. I'm looking for a win and a draw against Michigan State to validate my feeling.

Next 6 games...oof

2 at home with #3 MSU
home/away with #12 UConn
2 away with #7 Maine

If we can come out of this with 4 wins, we're looking pretty good.

I was there so didn’t see replay either but I said to my child as Jack(?) entered the zone “oh, that’s offsides and he knows it”. So I thought blatant and couldn’t believe the refs missed it.

So a game that was originally scheduled for 7pm, moved to 6:30pm for TV is now back to 7pm (But still on TV.) Are we entirely sure it won't be 7:30pm by the time we get to Friday? 🙃

It was moved to 6:30 because it was going to be on ESPNU. Now it's been upgraded to ESPN 2 so it was based on their programming schedule.

Any news on Sasha Boisvert's status for this weekend? Normally we would hear something from the BHB crew but maybe they did not have an interview with Coach this week?

OK, so The Terrier Fan Blog gave me the positive answer from Pandolfo's media call. Thanks Rogie.

I'm loving the "big-time" vibe this match-up has generated. Right down to an ESPN(2) broadcast and studio show. Here's hoping the young Terriers aren't blinded by the bright lights.

Also, we can't not bring up that two of the GREATEST games in Boston University Hockey history were against the Michigan State Spartans.
  • November 18, 1989. Walter Brown Arena - Down 4-1 going into the third, behind Tony Amonte (hat-trick?), BU erupts for 5 unanswered goals to win 6-4. Never have I ever heard WBA so loud. Epic
  • March 23-25, 1990. Munn Ice Arena. MSU took their #1 ranking and lofty 34-5-3 record into NCAA tournament play with a best of three series against BU. A BU team that included: Tony Amonte, Shawn McEachern, Joe Sacco, the Bavis brothers, and Mike Sullivan. Lost game one 6-3. Won the next two by identical 5-3 scores. Big upset. Another all-time comeback. I'm guessing those MSU Spartans - led by Kip Miller. (Are you ready for his stats? Are you sitting down? 48-53-101.) were seeing red for a long time after that season.
MSU finished with a 35-7-3 record that year. Three of their seven loses were to BU.

BU Hockey: Memory Lane

Just noticing on the website that BU is selling SRO for $40 and the few unsold (non-resale) seats left at $70. (before Ticketmaster fees) I've never seen a BU game scale up in price like this. Is this new this year?

How could I forget that regular season game with Amonte’s hat trick? WBA was shaking it was so loud.
That was the first BU hockey game I had ever seen. I didn’t even know BU had a hockey team until I showed up on campus and the guy in the dorm room next to me (who was in the pep band) said I needed to get to a game. Glad that was the first! Hooked for life…

Wait till you look at the BC home game prices (If there are still any left). It was like $125 or something! I’ve never experienced those kind of regular non-resale prices.
