RPI Recruit Thread 2025-2026

I must remember that one has to save the link that goes with the time of the post. It is possible that they forgot to enter RPI's logo.
No worries, I figured it was my lack of social media tech skills was the culprit...ha ha. I was hoping we could keep him on the hook and see how he played this year -- he has legit size and offensive ability.... Time will tell I suppose!

I can confirm that Hanscom, Shaw, Lariviere and Oakenfold are all decommitted. Additionally, Adrian and Ziliotto are as well
I wonder if the players decommitted or if lang cut them loose. My take on his interviews was euros and disgruntled players who were insurance players at bigger programs is the recruiting plan going forward.

That is essentially my opinion also. With the change of who is allowed to play college hockey, all teams' talent levels will rise, and ours needs to also. Hopefully, we will still be able to recruit players before the season is over. Relying on rejects and transfers does not seem like a long-term plan, and if that is the way for RPI to get the best team possible, I would think that it was also the case for many other schools.

Lang wants to recruit major junior/ushl and high end euro players. I believe he said with the amount of talent available many players will be pushed out at the blue chip programs. He will take a stab at them and same for transfer portal. Rejects and transfers will not be his primary recruiting focus rather a way to bolster the roster with a high end talent. This year was the exception obviously with the timing of his arrival.

How do you differentiate between players from the transfer portal and plain transfers?

Disgruntled might be bit harsh .I think with the increased scholarship allotment at many schools that a lot of very good players will be healthy scratches on a regular basis.

You don’t it’s the same thing. Lang wants to supplement the roster with high end transfers not use it as a way to build the entire roster. I also think with the amount of guys being pushed out of blue chip programs lang can start to land some high end guys. Similar to what northeastern did to us with mcdonald and Fontaine.
