25-26 Schedules

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the second(other than a tournament)mention of Salve Regina actually having a game scheduled.
Think it might be the only non-tourney game they have so far. Not sure what’s happening on the men’s side but it’s not looking great. Believe the women’s team has a full (or close to full) schedule, but I think they’ve loaded up with a good mix of teams that should keep them going this year. Still not a lot of teams left with open OOC slots for the men’s and the transfer portal has not been generous.

Appears so. What even happens then if Salve can't fill their schedule? Tried looking online to see what the NCAA does in that case, but couldn't find any info.
You would have thought they'd reach out to Hiram. I'm leaning they either cancel their season or play a slew of club and DII teams.

2 - vs St. Michaels
0 - vs SNHU
0 - vs Post
1 - vs Assumption
1 vs Johnson and Wales
0 vs Wentworth

Something is strange with Hiram's schedule. They got Club Toledo at home Oct 24 at 9:40 pm and then supposedly the next day in Reading, Penna to play Alvernia at 4 pm. That is a 6 hour trip. Seems intense for a college team.

Not quite as bad, but back when Finlandia was still around they were travel partners with SNC for a couple of years. This involved a four hour bus ride between De Pere and Hancock for visiting team after the Friday night game.

We used to joke that Finlandia and Adrian should have been travel partners because they were the only two Michigan schools in the NCHA ;)

So d3 hockey news came out with an article about the salve regina debacle and they mentioned how LEC coaches having a disdain for the now former salve head coach. One of the quotes was "Klann, a UMass-Amherst alum ’07 & Newport, RI native, faced his fair share of public and/or private scrutiny during his career for various reasons and incidents on and off the ice, with many surprised Salve didn’t make this move at leadership sooner". Does anyone know what he "allegedly" did along with the details? Do any of the insiders on here think now that he's gone the little east would accept them in the future? Theyre certainly a program that wouldve give any conference a boost to their SOS and NPI which the LEC certainly needs. The womens team has a full schedule and roster so it really seems like the mens coach is the epicenter for this entire problem with admin failing to properly handle him being the 2nd half of the problem

And yet Salve is still listing Klann as their Head Coach on their website. However, they have not posted their 2025-2026 schedules on either hockey site (M & W). Is there anyone who has some inside info on this once pretty good program?

It seems like a pretty weird and unfortunate situation for the team. Aside from the news around hockey, Salve seems to be doing ok on the surface. Salve just built a new dorm on campus and is getting recognition for a number of students making it into programs like the Fulbright. Still though, with a student body of that size and it costing $77k+ to attend, it makes me think there has to be some budget issues behind the scenes.

Admin and Athletics could be trying to cut off hockey as a cost saving measure, and shifting blame on to the coach and team. I don't know anything about Klann, but LEC coaches having a "disdain" for him and a handful of people wanting him out isn't a convincing case. If this is exclusive to the coach, then half the men's roster and the women's coach wouldn't have left in the span of the offseason.
