Providence College 2025-26 Official Season-Long Thread

As requested, PK is opening the thread for the new season. May as well get going with it and update when/if the McQueen news is officially official.

What are the expectations this year? Will we miss Yoder and Poisson after what felt like a decade playing for the home team?

Out from last year: Driscoll, Richard, Will, Poisson, Yoder, Connelly, Gendron, May, Fish, Harding and Borgiel. Did I miss anybody?

In this year: Donovan McCoy, Jonathan Fauchon, Beau Jelsma, Brendan Ross, Kale McCallum, Quinn Mantei, Julius Sumpf, Alex Rybakov, Martin Masa, Jack Parsons and Aaron-not-Auston Matthews. Plus, possibly Roger McQueen.

Looking at this year's class plus the commits/incoming in two years, the recruiting is looking really solid.

Schedule kicks off Friday, October 3rd. Hosting the degenerates from Simon Fraser in an exhibition game, and then on the 5th hosting Quinnipiac in a second exhibition game.
In terms of opponents, looks like PC gets a break from the gauntlet of BC/BU/UMass/Maine for the 3 games on the schedule, replaced with UConn, UNH, Vermont, but keeping Maine for the 3 this year.

There appears to be no shortage of depth and skill on the forward lines and that can only be a good thing.
If I counted right the roster is at 15 forwards (includes McQueen) and 8 defensemen. So that's three spare forwards. What's everybody think? I'd guess it's McEnery, Clark and Levens, and you rotate the latter two in when going with 13 forwards for a lineup. Alright.

Great start for the new thread PK. Could be the best team on paper since 2015-2016. Cannot wait for the season to begin, exciting times ahead for hockey in RI!

So glad you got us started with this new thread, look forward to what unfolds.

Thanks for starting this thread

Planning to make the trek to Schneider in January for the Maine series.

Been a few seasons since I've been to a game there but looking forward to seeing how your roster shakes out this season.

Interesting connection per Divver, to McQueen choosing PC: friends with Malinoski and teammates with Mantei. Smart recruiting and makes an easy selling point for players.

McQueen officially on the roster, highest draft pick ever for PC. This will be a very strong team, I think we are in for a treat!

Question for Cinnamaroll. Is there any speculation Zielinski is headed to Ottawa? Twice now OHL account in recapping USA games in Hlinka they listed Zielinski as “OHL talent” on tweets. What is contract wise limits to players jumping?

Can’t see Providence being opposed to jump, they have 9 recruits on CHL teams and Ottawa has a couple (Vandenberg and White)
