UMass Lowell 2024-2025 Season: Expectations are.....Expectations

The UMass schedule is out. The Hawks and Minutemen will play 3 games in a row.

Feb 1 (Sun) - UMA
Feb 6 (Fri) - UMA
Feb 7 (Sat) - @ UMA

Seems like it's shaping up to be another solid schedule. 2 vs. Western, 3 vs. UMass, the usual games against BU, BC and Maine, plus another tough matchup against Clarkson and I'm assuming another game or two against CCHA or NCHC based on how the Cactus Cup schedule shapes up. I believe last year we had the 12th strongest schedule or somewhere around there, so should be similar next year. Just the two against Western will give a good boost.

In Kalamazoo? Or in Lowell? Bells could use another trip...

Those two games are the only non-conference home games next season.
So of the 10 non-conference games next season only 2 will be at home. Any idea of the opponents for the final 4 games?

Baseball fails to make the America East tournament which ends spring team sports. Track and field still have events left.

Are we really looking at only 14 forwards on the roster next year? Seems really late to add 2 or 3?

Forwards (14):
Seniors: Jay Ahearn, Dillan Bentley, Jack Collins, Connor Eddy
Juniors: Jaiden Moriello, Jan Vaarwerk
Sophomores: Mirko Buttazoni, Chris Delaney, Jacob MacDonald, Libor Nemec, Lee Parks, Dominic Rivelli
Freshmen: Diego Buttazzoni, Cole Lonsdale

Someone else will come

When the World Championships start in Sweden this weekend, there will be 4 former RiverHawks over there. Gustavs Davis Grigals is one of three goaltenders for Team Latvia, and Team France will feature Guillaume Leclerc, head coach Yorick Treille, and one of his assistants is a guy named Norm Bazin.
France struggled (putting it mildly) as their tournament ended today, losing all 7 games (one in OT).

Grigals struggled for Latvia in net in his one game, finishing with a 81.08% save rate and a 7.00 GAA.

Big disappointment. I thought they would be better with new coaches but they finish in last this year. Lowell did not have a very good year in America East

To be fair, his one game was against Canada.

Even with one more, we only have three "bench players" on a game to game basis, which doesn't provide much depth based on injuries. Of course we now have a ton of D-men.
Just speculation here, but there is a chance that Lowell is actually opting in to the House settlement and the roster limit of 26 doesn't get changed.

Got a vague home list with no dates. Looks like UML will host Bentley as well. Also looks like they'll play Merrimack at home before the WMU series. 15 home games but there's also 1 more TBD game. They'll host Maine right before the UMass series. They'll host BU twice this season too.

If Lowell is hosting Bentley then it is an exhibition game in late December. Lowell and Bentley played an exhibition to open this past season.

Ah so you know for sure they have 4 more unknown road games? The Bentley game does look like a December game based on the order.
