UNH 2024/2025 Goldberg Edition

Meanwhile, I recall a derogatory post several pages back about some athletic department funding used to support alpine skiing, or something like that. Well, hang a banner at the Whitt for first-year Jayden Buckwell (Collingwood, Ontario) who just won a national championship in slalom at the NCAA’s on Wednesday at Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme, NH, the first NC for UNH since 2018 by UNH HOFer Elle Perrier in track and field.
Congrats to Buckwell. That's a big deal. Skied at Dartmouth Skiway as a youte with my gf. Lots of icy conditions IIRC. Happy days!

Reporting from the Tsongas Cats outshooting the RivH's 25-8. Playing very consistent. Fitzy's first collegiate goal was a beauty!
Big story around here is just where is Marty Lavins #6 jersey????

Conmy maybe, depends on who offers him a spot. I don't see Lavin's or the twins moving on. They are not a "name" like Conmy is plus I believe there are scholarship restrictions that can come into play.
If a team opts into ncaa proposed legislation and it passes the hockey rosters will be capped at 26 players and all can be on scholarship

It was in Durham and then was making its way to Lowell but you can't switch jerseys mid game.

Even though they scored 2 in the second, they went back to the flipping the puck into center ice and was not as solid as the first. So the question is, did we forget that MS7 was the coach or is UML that bad?

With Yukon the only team done, trying to breakdown the possibilities.

UMass and PC are tied with 36 points. First tie breaker is head to head which they are 1-1 against each other. Currently PC has the 2nd tie breaker with conference winning % so if they remain tied PC is 5 Umass is 6.

UVM gets no points and we get 2 or more, we are 10th
UVM gets 1 point, we need a regulation win to be 10th.
Anything less than 2 points we are 11.

So if we finish 11th we are at PC or UMass.

We sneak into 10th, they it becomes UML or Merrimack depending on the finish. MC and BC play at 1 so by the time we get to the Towse Rink at the Whittemore Center at the Key Auto Group Complex we will have a better idea as the UML/MC placement will be set I believe.

Still a lot of unfold but do you want, Umass, UML, PC, or MC on the road Wednesday. My checking account prefers PC or Umass so I don't have to travel.

Amazing the contrast between the records and the attendance of these two clubs. What was it that Winnik so infamously said?
To be fair their overall records aren’t all that different, but yes the attendance difference is very noticeable, considering how many UNH fans head down to Lowell (back in the day some would reference it as Whittemore South). And, it was Gare who made a comment about he’d rather be stabbed in the streets of Lowell than freeze in Orono, something to that effect.

Lanny Gare must be the most charismatic Wildcat hockey player ever?

I really liked Lanny’s response to the reporter who asked him how classes were going his senior: “Either the courses are getting tougher or I am getting stupider.”

Records are similar but different from the standpoint that UML has twice as many wins in hockey east than UNH does.

It was Gare? I could have sworn it was Winnik who said that. Either way it was a great line. Haha
