2024-25: D3whky

I may be wrong, but I’ll go out on a limb and say it. River Falls is repeating. As of late, it’s true they haven’t played anyone great.

But against solid to good teams, they are beating the ever-living snot out of them. They’re absolutely dominating individual games at a clip last years team didn’t even do.

I think the rest of the country is probably pretty upset at GAC for beating them a 2nd time. Since that game, it feels like the beast has been awaken.

They've gotten hot at the right time. I caught some of the beginning of tonight's game and they were all over Superior.

UWRF easily has the most talented group of skaters in the West, it's the goal tending that will bite them in the backside. Hard to make a deep run with shaky goal tending. Still wouldn't want to face them early on they are definitely clicking and dangerous, but beating up on WIAC opponents by 5+ goals is what they should be doing. The talent difference between RF and Superior is like watching a Varsity team take on a JV team.

Longest game in Norwich women’s hockey history, Cadets win it early in 3rd OT with Taylor Girouard providing the heroics.

Norwich will host Elmira for the NEHC title next Saturday at 3pm

Was a good game, I caught some of the OT play. I enjoy the broadcasts with only Coach Fitzpatrick on the call a lot more tbh...

I'm surprised they haven't put this one away yet, but Rimstad is on fire. Saint Mary's needs to score quickly if they want to win this. I'm impartial on this one, friends on both sides.

Two full games played, heading to a 4th 20 min OT. At some point don't you have to call it and resume tomorrow? Great effort by both teams, but the legs are way gone.

This has to be the longest D3 women's game
https://nescac.com/documents/2020/7/29/ih_w_.pdf -> The previous longest D3 women's games were the ones from NESCAC :

126:35 - Middlebury def. Hamilton, 3-2 (4OT) - QF, 2/28/15
123:49 - Trinity def. Middlebury, 2-1 (4OT) - SF, 3/6/10

So this game at 128:06 is almost certainly qualifies. I know there has been one longer D1 Women's game.

I still have memories of sitting through that Trinity / Middlebury game in the stands...

Thanks to collegehockeystats (man I miss that website). 90 percent of this was pretty easy to compile. The last four years were a bit of a bear.

And Plymouth state wins this with 13:06 left in the 4th overtime. The Panthers take their first conference championship in the first MASCAC championship.
