The amount of offense you take any time someone brings this up is pretty hilarious. You are like the Trump Loving Anti-Masker of the ignore feature ;-)

(since there is no emoticons I will put here that this post is made with tongue firmly in cheek)

It's ridiculous that you think you can tell people who they can and can't respond to. It really isn't that hard to scroll past things you don't want to see. But instead you pull this crap every time.
The ignore function is useless... and if people want to engage in something someone posts....even a troll....they can. Stop trying to be the board police.

Ah so I cant ask people to be respectful but you can tell me what to do. The hypocrisy is strong with you. Though to be fair to you, you never hid it :-)

Yeah, I understand the ignore feature and I'm not harping on you for using it. But I also know from past experience that if you respond to a post, but don't quote it, you can get responses back like "I hope you're not referring to me" or "who said that."

I just don't think that quoting a post is an offense for which people need to be criticized.

The thing is before the crap reboot of this board I would agree probably with you. Now I dont even know when the clown posts so if I see a post that is out of nowhere I just assume they arent talking to me. It is one of the 2 good features of whatever the hell this crap version of vbulletin is.

And despite a certain SCCC fan's protestations we arent forcing anyone to do anything or even demanding really. (maybe rufus does but he is always gruff) We ask politely. And since board has decided they no longer post here or moderate (under any of their names) and since there is quite a few around here itching for a flame war it seems like this is the best way to keep things civil. (relatively speaking)

It isnt like we can actually do anything to you if you choose not to honor our requests. (nor would we anyways) I just think this place got a lot better when clowns like Flaggy left and would rather not go down that road again which seems to be where Jeb is headed. That is my opinion, as always you are welcome to think otherwise. It is no skin off my nose either way.

It has nothing to do with you wanting people to "be respectful" so ****.
Respect is earned... so you want it...start doing it to those who disagree with you. (Ex SCCC).

Scroll. Past.it. it's really simple Handy.

Handyman is no doubt an adult version of the spoiled brat type of protester that is left out there right now.

It is easiest for him to ignore any outside views from his little echo chamber. If he does come across any outside “noise” he will be sure criticize, racist, stupid, Trumper, ect. As his way of saying, not valid, conversation over.

He is rather elementary.

A public health agency that operates hospitals in Houston says area hospitals are transferring some patients to other hospitals in and outside of the city as Texas sees a surge in coronavirus cases.

In an interview with a local news station, Charlie McMurray-Horton, the associate administrator for Clinical Integration and Transformation at Harris Health, spoke about the capacity issues affecting Harris Health hospitals.

"It really has intensified in the last month or so," McMurray-Horton said on Tuesday, according to ABC 13. "We are actively trying to transfer out ICU and surge patients that are COVID positive and under investigation, just because we don't have the capacity to treat those patients."

Harris Health System operates Ben Taub and LBJ hospitals in the Houston area. The hospitals are transferring both COVID-19 patients and others to help free up hospital beds, Bryan McLeod, a spokesperson for Harris Health, told CBS News on Wednesday. In the last 24 hours, they have moved 33 patients to other hospitals and are working to relocate at least 15 more, McLeod said.

McLeod said some patients have been transferred to other hospitals in the Houston area and some have been brought to Galveston, Conroe and other nearby cities. He said this is a common practice to free up beds at the hospitals.

According to data from the state's department of health and human services, there were 6,533 COVID-19 related hospitalizations in the state as of Tuesday. Across the state, there were 13,711 available hospital beds, 1,405 available ICU beds and 1,405 available ventilators, according to the data.

Seems like stats or info without context is your game.

“What you’ve been hearing is a report that we are at 97% or so capacity...Exactly one year ago, it was at 95%. It is completely normal for us to have ICU capacities that run in the 80s - 90s. That’s how all of us operate hospitals...”

“We are seeing younger patients, we are seeing a shorter length of stay, we are seeing lower immortality, and we are seeing lower ICU utilization right now.”

Republicans would like you to know if the COVID doesnt kill you it doesnt matter and isnt problematic. That is the way they spin it now.

Sure, I don't respond to any number of trolling posts here. But doesn't the fact that someone responded to a post suggest they didn't find the post to be trolling, that they found something to respond to? Or do you and Handy just get to decide who is the troll and who is not, and the rest of us need to abide by that decision?

I hear what you are saying.

I apologize if my request sounded imperious. It's not an attempted command, it's a plea.

And I do believe engagement takes precedence and that the onus is on the person who doesn't want to deal with the troll. I agree with you a policy of prejudging people as trolls, when they may simply be voicing an unpopular viewpoint, would be a disaster for the forum and for free expression in general.

Right now I have two people blocked. One disagrees with me all the time. One agrees with me 95% of the time. So I feel personally confident in claiming that my identification of a poster as a troll does not have to do with their and my partisanship. It's my assessment, for myself, of their sincerity in wanting to engage on the merits as opposed to their desperation to assuage whatever deep psychological deficiency they have by taunting others and defacing a public space.

But I get everything you are saying and I'll stop asking people to ignore. They can make their own choices.

TL;DR: Point taken.
