Saw posts a page or two back about Anthony Rizzo being traded to the Yankees but nothing about him here testing positive for COVID?? Was he exposed before he got to New York? And why isn't he vaccinated????

He's not getting the vaccine as of now because he's a cancer survivor...and isn't sure how his immune system may handle it. I hope COVID goes ok for him.

MLB and Fox couldn’t have scripted a better game than that. Yankees score four in the 9th to take an 8-7 lead before Tim Anderson walks it off with a two run bomb and circled the bases with a backdrop of cornfields and fireworks.

And here's why that surprised even me.

I love kitsch. Target field is full of it and it's great.

this game has been insufferably corporatized awful. I couldn't get into it. Part of the problem was Joe Buck. You need to get the oldest, best story teller on the radio to do this game. Cut the crowds by 80%. Get rid of all the boom boom gotta keep the kids attention nonsense.

Actually, you know what would make this literally perfect? Do it every year, but no TV. You gotta go to see it.

As likely the only Sox fan on the board, I'll just say I felt a wide range of emotions during the 9th. Agree the high degree of melodrama made the broadcast insufferable at times but personally I'll take Joe Buck over Jim Nantz every day and twice on Sunday.

And the Cubs still suck.

There are two of us =)

As a local TownBall account posted on twitter, "The printed vinyl wrap hay bales really brought me back to my Iowa childhood."

Why are the Baltimore Orioles consistently so bad? They’re more than 30 games out on August 15, and it’s been like that for what seems like ever. Is it the ownership? Are they cheap? Can they not find a good manager that knows how to lead a team? I know there are times when teams are bad but I don’t get the yearly demise of this team? I suppose I shouldn’t care as a Red Sox fan, being in the same division, but as a baseball fan, it perplexes me. How do any people go to games at Camden Yards?
