Aaron Nola has struck out 9 consecutive Mets in the 5pm shadows at Citi Field. He will attempt to tie Tom Seaver's 50-year old record of 10 next inning against Mike Conforto. Pete Alonso would be 11.

Red Sox-Yankees at Fenway tonight. Almost like the pandemic never happened. Game was pretty much sold out. They had a retirement ceremony for Dustin Pedroia. He was such a great player. I’m glad I was there to see it.

i never know why Red Sox-Yankees games take forEVER. Tonight I saw a four strike out inning (Yankees pitcher) and a pitcher who got injured in the middle of an at bat (also a Yankees pitcher). And the first time I’ve stayed for the full nine innings in a long time.

Chicago Cubs put seven runs on the board in the top of the first inning yesterday...

... then promptly gave up 15 unanswered runs the rest of the game to lose to the Milwaukee Brewers. Yankees also posted seven runs in their half of the first inning, only to also lose as well.

Looking at the rest of the scores from last night, it appears a LOT of pitchers were loading baseballs with junk and now hitters clearly have the advantage. I don't recall ever seeing such wild scores across the league ever before. Not even in the steroid / HR record chase years...
