Didn’t that farmland perhaps belong to someone else at an earlier date? Maybe they should have been allowed to keep ownership

So sayeth the guy who wants us to feel sorry for people getting more than $10 million after all other debts have been paid for no reason other than winning the birth lottery and who wants farmers to have yet another government handout simply because they're farmers.

And I note you completely ignored the actual substance raised. Why should your cousins be treated differently than Shaq's kids just because their dad was a farmer rather than an NBA star?

and before you cry poor farmers yet again, remember again that inheritance is after debts have been paid, which means your uncle had $10,000,000+ in assets free and clear of debt and any other outstanding liabilities.

If your cousins didn't want to sell land to pay the estate tax, there was $10,000,000+ available as collateral for a loan.

Generational wealth is one of the last vestiges of royalty & nobility that the world has kept in place. Much like the concept of a "divine right to rule", it's equally stupid (have you read about how inbred those European dynasties were?). There should always be a cap on the value of an estate that is considered non-taxable, which gets adjusted annually for inflation. Let's start it off at $5m (because 90% of the country will never even get close to that net worth). Anything above that gets taxed in brackets of, say, 50% on the first $5m, 70% on the next $20m, and 90% on everything above $50m. You shouldn't automatically get to keep all the net worth that you yourself didn't risk any of your own capital to build, just because your old man (who put in the money and the time) croaked and you were lucky that he spilled his seed in your mom's hoo-ha.

I can’t agree more.

at least people aren’t hiding that they want to advance the inequity gap.

so many people who didn’t do anything but spawn from the right vagina think they’ve earned everything
 
I didn’t see this posted anywhere, but as predicted by many on here, it’s being reported that Boeing already plans to restart (like they ever stopped) contributions to Republicans who voted to overturn the 2020 election results.

Oddly enough, this trip we are staying at The Linq, which is effectively Ralph's old place. However, it's been substantially modified and cleaned up. The Imperial Palace was a mess. But it's a great location.
