Not to be pedantic, but there were many, many fundraisers across the state that sold those shirts. It’s probably more likely than not that those wearing them are not from Oxford. Still, a reminder of how common this has become.

I know they were unlikely to be from Oxford- but the idea of having that shirt on when you are part of an active shooting on a campus, as you say.... This state hasn't gotten over that, and now another campus shooting.

The governor looked exhausted this morning- one is too many.

I figured that’s what you meant. Just wanted to clarify. But, Oxford is a big school so there’s probably 40+ kids at MSU who went through the shooting last year.

Parkland was five years ago today. There’s a good chance there’s at least one student going to MSU. There’s one Sandy Hook survivor who’s at MSU right now as well.

Just had another thought- this happens so much, one feels the need to double clutch their response for fear it being read as a meme. How deep of a hole have we dug where honest support has to be considered just so that it comes out genuine?

Heck, this board has obliterated "thoughts and prayers" for various things.

Weird. The shooter had a note in his pocket indicating a threat to a school district in New Jersey where he used to live. They closed today and have since announced there is no threat, but that’s interesting.

Kinda makes you wonder about the hoax threats last week, which were all centered around southern Michigan metro areas. But then you’d think if someone could plan all that they’d have a different plan than trying to walk five miles home.
 
Consider the poor bullet. There it is, minding its own business, flying peacefully through the air and suddenly out of nowhere a person performs a violent act by stepping in front of it. Then it experiences the severe trauma of ripping through flesh and bone before its journey is brought to a brutal end

Will no one think of the bullet?

Weird is the right word- that is almost bizzare.

And for sure, the hoax threats will be dealt with. Both on the serious response as well as look hard into who put them out.
 
There was a rash of false bomb and shooter threats in MA recently as well. Is there some 4chan/q-type nonsense going on?

edit: Is. Not was. There is a swatting incident at Duxbury High School happening at this moment.

Not sure if this is real or not but apparently the headline for a story on NYT’s website was ‘The mass shooting places Michigan St back in an uncomfortable national spotlight.’
