I am saying it is time to stop talking and start acting. The Dems don't have the balls to put forth any real legislation because that would mean they have to go on record and they never like that. They are so afraid of losing they quit before the game starts just to make sure they can hold their head up high. The Dems are the fans of every team that whines about the refs not calling penalties in the playoffs when they inevitably lose.

It doesn't matter what some worthless poll says, guns aren't going anywhere naturally. So either we do something about it or stop talking about it. This is life or death, not some plot point on a graph and until such time as Dem Leadership starts acting like it nothing will change.

Put it this way...if AOC was in charge of the Dem Caucus (a man can dream) what do you think she would say or do? That should be the fucking argument not whatever the hell Diane Feinstein or some other octogenarian thinks.

This should be the minimum. Hell I would make super strict restrictions on when law enforcement or military can carry as well.

And it can't be a small penalty either if caught. If you have a gun you go to prison. Period.

Give a grace period though...like 2 years to turn in every gun no questions asked and no penalty. Then the next day if you have anything more powerful than a starters pistol on your person in a metropolitan area you go bye bye. If you commit a crime with a gun mandatory sentences that are ridiculously Draconian. Hunters can keep their guns out in the middle of bumbphuck nowhere and they are required to take safety classes and tests every year or forfeit all licenses.

There is a major problem with this (racially speaking) which is why you need to give a grace period. This is definitely NOT going to help with Black Incarceration in many cities for a while. That will be offset though if you stop incarcerating every Black Man who dares to smoke a joint and give amnesty for anyone currently in prison for minor drug offenses.

If people want to live in the Wild West they can find a plot of land in Wyoming and leave society.

I used to never care about the gun issue much and supported 2A but no longer. Guns are a cancer and it is time to cut it off.

For clarity, semi-auto is one trigger cycle (pull, release) is one round. World's fastest revolver (revolvers are semi-auto) shooter can do five rounds in under 0.6 seconds.

Yeah, and I'm sure that guy was a huge threat after the first two...just proves the point that modern guns provide far more rapid fire than is actually needed. There was no reason for that cop to remain so close to the suspect - he put himself in harm's way and the victim paid the consequences. You have a gun - don't take it into a knife (or quarter-staff, in this case) fight.

Ok, then we ban revolvers, that's fine, too.

And how does a cop use of a weapon make it ok for the general public to have access to them? But thanks for pointing out that weapons like that are only intended to kill other humans. Appreciate that.

When you have a justification for hunters to have weapons that can put out rounds as fast as your finger can put them out- feel free to post that. I did actually reply to "why ARs are unique" question.

Dove hunters will fire 3-5 shots in the matter of a few seconds. Waterfowl can be 2-3 shots in a second or two.

I mean, at least some of the Hampton's crowd is all about the outdoor living on vacation. Have you not been out to Montauk? Is there not an outdoors scene up in Ithaca? How do you not know about this =0P

Before the interaction with the sheriff's deputy that person had run two other cars off the road (and wrapped his car around a tree or pole). When confronted, that person (on meth) emerged. Imagine that coming after you, and not the deputy. As the old joke says, I hope you can run faster than that 'bear'.

My friends and relatives living in rural eastern ND (not the western oil patch) have been told by their sheriff's office not only to arm, but what to purchase to defend themselves. Why? The meth trade uses abandoned farmsteads as cook labs, and sometimes they get lost and pull into the wrong farmstead. When the nearest law enforcement office is 40 miles away, what are their options?

LOL- just mongering fear. And it's also good that the sheriff's office has blatantly told you that they are incompetent, and you are on your own. How many actual shooting have taken place where meth labs have attacked farmers? One, two? Is that worth the multiple hundred of people who are being murdered because gun access is so good, and lots of rounds can be shot very quickly?

Again, your ENTIRE argument is that guns are for killing people. And I appreciate that you can at least admit that.

Dude, you just posted an article about the best shooter in the world, as if that's some kind of example of the nominal, and now you are saying that it's not actually possible??? Seriously?

BTW, based on my requirements- it's not as fast as your finger can pull, and it's not over 5 rounds. You are welcome to actually bother to read and understand the suggestion instead of finding random acts of skill that nobody else can do.
