It was an exhibition, so I would say no.
Aren't preseason games basically exhibition? I'd say those influence voters.

Then it should count against the Gophers in the national rankings. I guess we'll see if it does in next weeks rankings. It was non conference, not exhibition per the play by play guys. Counts towards pairwise.
Progress! Just so they're as consistent as possible, game to game. The women's game overall is rapidly becoming more physical, which makes the referees' job more difficult. One good thing is that in a lot of games WCHA refs don’t feel obligated to call a penalty every time someone falls down!
Tommies sweep Lindenwood.
UMD sweeps St. Cloud.
Looking at the game 1 stats, in the 2nd period UMD had 1 shot, St. Cloud had 3. 4 total shots in 1 period. That is insane. That has to be a D1 record for fewest shots in a period. Did the ice melt? Did the lights go out? For the weekend, St. Cloud outshot UMD 3 of the 6 periods.
The two teams were constantly hounding the puck carrier, with back and forth action but few scares for either goaltender. The first period was really seeing them feel out each set of matchups. UMD was able to figure out what they needed to do, while St. Cloud was unable to set up the right response for the pressure. The second game was a continuation with UMD in control.
We will find out a bit if the EZAC is for real or not or will we because OSU will run out of gas?
I don't think OSU will run out of gas. Coach Muzerall has her players in peak physical condition and from Saturday evening to Tuesday evening is plenty of time for their bodies to fully recover from the Bemidj series.
We’ll see. 2 other significant upsets came in early in the week games this year. I agree they are in great shape but it’s still a change in routine.
Would Gate beating the Eye's be a significant upset? I suppose it depends on your women's college hockey worldview. Both teams will be out of schedule, so that is a wash to me.
What is ECAC’s biggest win against WCHA this year so far? Clarkson handling Bemidji? Maybe comparatively, Yale handling Penn State who has a big WCHA win?
Going back to the original comment about short rest - the series right before Thanksgiving on short rest, which team has the mental strength and gas to finish off this stretch of the season will be interesting to see.
It doesn't look like any of the top WCHA teams are playing consistently at a championship level defensively, but it is November, not March. Nice work by Colgate to battle back from the early hole.Does OSU have an issue in goal or just horrible D zone play?
Does OSU have an issue in goal or just horrible D zone play? A tie on the road in this game is practically a win for Colgate.
