News outlets get eyes during elections by saying they’re closer than any ever expected. And when the results match, or come near the numbers they were X months prior, they have a new narrative of trying to fix the polls or if the polls mean anything.

I don't know how this is gonna go but the early voting in the important states seems to be a good sign. Around here the narrative seems to have changed from "Dems are in trouble across the board" to "now it might be a split ticket for the first time since '06" cause Ellison is close. Crockett and Jensen are not trending well and the locals dont want a "Dewey Defeats Truman" moment.

Yeah which is weird because I remember back in '16 and '18 they seemed to be respected more. I never saw anything about how they were run by GOPers but now that is all the non-partisans talk about. Their numbers are odd to say the least.

What is also weird is Cook seems to still treat them as gospel.
 
Gonna make a prediction here.

Election Day counts will favor Rs because of how they’ve orchestrated not allowing early vote counting.

I predict a certain poster will suddenly make an appearance again.

I think I have him blocked, I should probably check

cpr is an odd one for me. I've always viewed them favorably, but like you pointed out, they hold RCP in high regard. And I think it's fair to measure someone by the company they keep. Which is not a good look for them.
 
Morning Joe says the early anecdotal evidence shows indies aren’t going for R’s nearly as hard as expected. Michael Steele agrees with early assessment. Still morning, polls haven’t even fully opened yet. I’m just trying to get on the positivity bus.
 
Can we all agree that if things don't go to pot as bad as pollsters believe we will all stop pretending polls mean anything?

If the prognosticators are right then Biden will be the only thing that saves the entire social safety net...until 2024.

Depends on your definition of go to pot. The way this electorate functions we may be back to needing to lose this time so that we get the correction in 2024. Unfortunately that might mean that the election is 2024 really will be stolen. Which means Democracy is dead. But, hey, the Repubs always get their way in the end anyway.
