As did MJ, though "chat" would not be the word I'd use.

Awesome. I have not seen these 2 refs in a long time. I guess they get hidden in the bowels of the state of MN the rest of the year. Ironically from my angle I didn't think the first call against Kato was good. I saw it as OB just kind of fell on the boards on her own. Maybe it was.

pp needs to shoot more. Somehow they need to scheme up improved shooting lanes. You would think they could just watch film of ous's and use that.

It does bother me that Kato was more in the game than they really should have been. The 1st period was a really even and that was not a good look.
We need to see some 5 goal plus games out of the next 3 or the problems really aren't solved.

Let's gooooooooo RED!

3rd tier tickets are being sold for fill the bowl. The first 2 tiers must be full. They are going to crush the mens game high attendance. They might double it lol.

Kronish was great in that first period, it could easily be 2-1 MSU right now.

Did anyone else get a better view than I did of the goal that got waved off? The ref had a better view than I did, so I trust that calling a high stick was the right call, but without a replay I really have no idea.

Completely blatant missed trip on MSU right at the end of the period. Aside from that, I thought the officiating was fine.

Refs wave off a goal on a high stick, no reply in the rink???? Looked very close. Lame. I suppose since they called it a no goal they cant review? This crowd is all over these loser refs. I haven't seen it like this in a long time.

I'm sitting on the end line, across the rink from the band, and though the high stick was pretty obvious in real time.

I Dislike the rule change that requires a coaches challenge to review something like that, but I also can't imagine that it would have been overturned.

Kronish's best save of the 2nd might have been preventing an own goal by Toft, who tipped a MSU cross ice pass in the blue paint toward the goal.

You're mixing two together, I think.

The first was was waved off, and not reviewed at all. The second one was a goal reviewed by an MSU coach's challenge, and was ruled 'call in the ice stands'.

The comment you're replying to was made before the challenge. So it's just referring to the first one, which was waved off on the ice and not reviewed.

I understand that Natalie blew out her Achilles and is out for the season.

Buchbinder was on a line chart for Saturday's game posted on the team Twitter account, posted an hour before game time. Then not listed on an updated chart a half hour later. So when did this supposedly happen, at the Saturday morning skate? Pardon me if I'm skeptical.

I hope not, Toft isn't ready for prime time and Kotlowksi and Helgesen had some moments with Kato when they were out together, although both have really improved over the last few years.

As I understand, she was injured after the line charts were turned in but before they went on the ice on Saturday. She was supposed to be playing. She was injured warming up, apparently off the ice. It was a big surprise to Helgeson and Toft that they were suddenly playing a lot more than expected. Not a very nice birthday for Natalie.

If that's true, then she's not just done for the season, that's the end of her Badger career.

Sadly, yes. Losing their best defender to injury, 2 seasons in a row. This one's going to leave a mark. I can't imagine Helgesen or Toft playing in the UM or OSU games, way too much at stake.

It was great to see the 4th line get points in both games last weekend. They played a lot better in game 2 than game 1.

So is Kronish the ONE now? Or did Gervais' injury flare up and they are being conservative? If only there was a beat writer to ask the question......

Buchbinder is done per the presser today. MJ said that her injury right before the game really kinda threw the team for a loop. He also mentioned that he liked the way the team played in the last 2 periods of the weekend in that they played a really free style. Mark Stewart was asking some really good questions from JS online. You can tell he's not a hockey guy per se like having knowledge of defensive pairs and forward lines, but still asked more pointed questions than Todd seemed to ask. He couldn't get MJ to come right out and say the Kronish is the 1, but he did ask. I think MJ implied by the Minnesota series he'll have a number one goalie picked out.
