From what I am reading it wasn't the DOJ that made this motion but actually Judicial Watch the Right Wing Trump Humpers. The DOJ just agreed to do it.(they had until tomorrow to decide) JW is taking victory laps about it because they are too stupid to realize they just completely fucked their hero and fellow traitor.

From what I heard on Dan Abrams today, trump was served with subpoena for the documents back in like May. The only way this progressed to a criminal search warrant was if they had evidence that he withheld documents. They had an informant that provided what documents they were and where to find them.

Dan and others he's had on this week are convinced this isn't just a presidential records act violation. It's got to be something more. The way they served the warrant also pointed to something fairly urgent because they could have served him another subpoena. But they may have thought trump would destroy them or something bigger was going on to go the route of criminal search warrant.

trump's team has also reached out to conservative media asking to tone down the rhetoric on the FBI. The only reason you do that is if this is really bad for trump.

I'm sorry but nuclear weapons secrets moved this way way way past PRA violations. We're starting to dabble into some pretty dark territory here.
