We held Nixon responsible. But, everything in this country changed when Reagan was elected. The progression from there (or regression depending on your point of view) has all been one direction.

I get it. We used to (sort of, on occasion) hold those in positions of high authority accountable. But I just wonder why anyone believes that is still even remotely true now.

At least today's Ohio primary is going to go a long way towards righting what is wrong with this country, because you know there are still political solutions, or so I'm told.

We held Nixon responsible because press coverage made it clear what Nixon had done. The right then spent the next 50 years developing their own press to hide all of their misdoings from their voters.

Yes, this was literally Ailes' stated goal in creating Fox.

They understood they needed their own network if they were going to lie all the time. So they built the network, because there is no way for the Right to win elections without lying.

I havent seen it...but good god everyone is talking about it. And by talk about it I mean "saying vague things that totally make it sound like he needs to stay away from cameras"! I dunno what Republican he refused to fellate at the cocaine sex parties but they are destroying him.
