If there were any conservatives left on this board I'm sure they would point to a global social-commu-facist conspiracy likely found on Hunter's laptop.

I heard that on TV this morning. Over and over again. And they keep bringing Hillary into the mix.

Hillary was investigated fully. Complied with all subpoena's. And Trey Gowdy had her under oath for over 10 hours. 10 FUCKING HOURS. They got nothing.

The problem, you see, is Hillary didn't plead the 5th, so that's how you KNOW she was lying.

Yeah, I mean, there's obviously no such thing as a lock for garage doors. And that bathroom was surely never opened. So he's got that!

Not that they want to make sincere arguments, but they pretty much ignore how much the indictment spelled out how much intent factored into all of this. It's one thing to have a few such documents randomly scattered through the hundreds of documents you take back, especially after your administration has specifically spent weeks making sure the correct people had time to go through and make sure classified stuff was not taken (as was well documented at the end of the Obama administration in many many news stories). And then upon finding them you immediately give them back. It's another to have evidence that specific classified documents were never run past the correct people (which the indictment shows), that you were asked multiple times to return them and stalled or refused (which it shows), you said would return all of them and only returned some, explicitly hiding the others further (which it shows), and that you were well aware of the illegality of what you did and even bragged about it (which it shows).

It's the difference between one driver not being pulled over for going 5 mph over the limit and the other getting pulled over because they were going 5 mph over the limit while swerving the car back and forth and honking the horn and flashing the headlights and throwing objectiles out of the window all at the same time.

Also, if this is all political, why didn't they go after Mike Pence, who also has documents?

I think the right is also fixating on the storage location as being "The big deal". Sure, it's evidence of haphazard treatment and the sheer volume. It's also hilarious (ly terrible).

But it's yet another right wing technique - seize on an irrelevant detail and pound it as if it's the central thesis, and thereby change the subject to whether storing boxes in a garage is worse than in a bathroom. Who cares where they were stored? Any discussion on that is irrelevant to the fact that Trump had documents he shouldn't have had (bad, but not necessarily criminal in and of itself), that he lied about having them (bad, making the first part criminal), that he further obstructed the recovery of said documents (also bad, also furthering the criminal parts of this), and whether he disseminated some of the information (very, very bad). The storage location is not a good luck, but the photos are merely "here is where we found this stuff".
