Overruled and thrown off a case are very different things (sorry, I know that sounds like i'm condescending, but i'm not :-) ).

At this level of lawyering, how you present yourself is how you sell yourself.

Using an asinine, Dump-approved defense torpedos your career after Dump's trial is done.

Anyone that does that will be reduced to challenging DUI's and Bar Fight charges.

I doubt that these lawyers would be willing to go from a 7-figure plus salary to maybe $100k/year.

One of the new ones did. Quit his law firm to represent Donnie.

I can only assume Donnie pitched a royal temper tantrums on his lawyers after the indictment came down. Word was Donnie was getting the soft pedal from his legal team, they were assuring him he was going to skate. Whether this was actually the message coming from the lawyers, or this was the filtered version being fed him by Epstein I don't know.

But probably once the indictment came, Donnie went full bore after the lawyers, blaming everything on them, ranting and screaming like a whiny baby. I hope they weren't near any ketchup.

If they were still telling him that when news of the recording leaked then they aren't even good enough to chase ambulances. His only real defense was "I de-classified it" and he was caught on tape admitting he didn't and couldn't!

I mean this is such a slam dunk it is ridiculous. Its like the plot of a bad episode of a sitcom...
 
If these charges were against literally anyone else on Earf, I'd agree with you. But this is Trump we're talking about.

Right but Trump doesn't have the mob to narc on like he did in the 80s and 90s...and he doesn't have the GOP to ignore his crimes like he did when he was impeached. (twice!) Look up the conviction rate of federal prosecutions it is pretty ridiculous and he isn't exactly going to have great lawyers, or even a real defense!

There is a reason the GOP is freaking out, they hitched their wagons to a guy who admitted to people WHO HE DOESNT REALLY KNOW WHILE BEING RECORDED that he knew what he was doing was wrong, that he didn't have the authority to do it but he did it anyways. And why did he tell them...TO FRIGGIN BRAG! The fact that the document he is bragging about on tape is missing and the fact that other documents may have been damaged in his possession and were never secured (and he lied, stonewalled, lied again and got lawyers to lie for him) really sealed the deal.

He can't just will this one away. The GOP will try their best to help (I expect Jack Smith and Garland and half the DOJ to be subpoenaed ASAP) but short of either him finding a way to stall it out (unlikely since he is now indicted) or the courts full on just wiping away the rule of law completely this one is going to stick. I mean the Watergate Tapes weren't this damning...the only difference is back then the GOP had a few scruples left.

It's the simple fact that more than 50% of the country has realized there are serious consequences to peddling blatant lies. They have rejected that notion.

The 30% that still do this are true believers and will take that stance to their graves. They are most definitely entering the "find out" stage of the game.

That is what I said yesterday. And don't get me started on the DOJ or the judge in the case...no one is safe.

That is an accurate portrayal of what went down. I mean the entire convo is in the indictment I have read it 12 times and I still don't believe it.
