Covfefe-19 The 12th Part: The Only Thing Worse Than This New Board Is TrumpVirus2020

Obviously, covid positive patients there for something else need to be isolated and treated with caution, but we seem - finally - to be crossing that rubicon.

Might just cross back over in the Fall. We'll see. But the population seems to have divided between the vaccinated and the walking dead.

I stopped making predictions a long time ago and now I just kind of listen to those almost-worst-case-scenarios and assume that's what will happen.

So, yeah. I agree. We might. Probably will. Hopefully not.

Interesting. I trust these folks to do the right thing (unlike ... other places...), and it seems like the money change is:
In April 2021, a death was classified as COVID-19-associated if it was determined that the virus directly caused or contributed to the person’s death, the person had a diagnosis within 60 days and had no other obvious cause of death, such as trauma.

The most recent definition of COVID-19 associated death is similar to the second definition but shortens the COVID-19 diagnosis window to the past 30 days with natural causes listed on the death certificate.

So 60 to 30 day lookback. Not really the gigantic change the headline suggests it is. But it does seem to make MA look a bit more favorable in terms of total numbers. So there's that, I guess.

After reading the last few pages I attempted to not see a certain individual (no need to be reminded that people are really this stupid). I can't seem to block anymore? Did they take that feature out?

Before. I’d assume that number is also before having time to properly attribute a good chunk of those 500,000 excess deaths last year versus 2020 to Covid.

So Europe isn’t trending in a great direction right now with cases. Hong Kong is terrible but their vaccines are likely big part of their story

BA2 is driving much of Europe and spreads 30% faster than omricon

Not long ago, I saw a doctor opinion that BA2 would not be a big deal, since it's the "same" as Omicron. Even though it was very different, as he also pointed out. Now I know that his opinion is, well, questionable- along with some others.

Wazzat mean? Did HK get a bad batch? Are they using a different (bogus) vaccine?

They used Sinovac, and didn’t have the best percentage of elderly vaccinated and now have a high death rate

BA.2 is definitely an issue for places that didn't get hit with the BA.1 wave, but for those of us in areas that already had Omicron waves, it's unlikely to be a big deal.
