Do we still have the death penalty for treason?

Yes, but the last person to be convicted of treason against the US and sentenced to die was in 1952 - he was later deported to Japan rather than executed. The last person to actually be executed for treason was in 1862.

Republicans are big about bringing back the old days, when things were simpler, people knew their place, and were accountable for their actions.

In this case, I' m all for it.

Funny...the very stuff done of us were talking about right away is the stuff being investigated now. It's almost like anyone who took five minutes to look could have known what happened.

Maybe the DOJ should actually do some investigating...

It was inevitable. As soon as the media and the FBI got the Orange Baboon elected.

But her emails!!!!!!

Meanwhile, Mark Meadows is running around using numerous personal phones and email accounts plotting to overturn the results of a fairly contested election, and all we hear from the oh so concerned wingers on this board is crickets.

It seems pretty obvious at this point that they successfully used a common practice as a boogeyman to dupe people into voting against Hillary. Quite a few people on this board including someone who thinks himself quite the security wonk were completely fooled by it.

To add on to what I said yesterday, consider John Walker Lindh. Most likely guilty of treason, but wasn't charged as such given the evidence available and some technicalities. He ended up taking a deal to only get 20 years by pleading guilty to a few of his charges and is now on supervised release. The standard for what constitutes "treason" under American law is very high, and rightfully so.

As they do with everything. Socialism!!! Communist!!! CRT!!! Black Lives Matter!!!!! Define The Police!!!!

Read an article today that says why so many of the insurrectionists are being charged with "obstructing an official proceeding of Congress" and why Liz Cheney went out of her:eek: way the other day to pretty much quote verbatim the relevant section of our federal laws, instead of being charged with seditious conspiracy.

Both carry the same penalty, but obstruction an official proceeding of Congress is much easier to prove.

Buckle up, Donnie.

Makes sense. This is the A students against the C students. Assuming we grow a pair, it won't be close.

Jim Jordan is at the center of the sent text messages to Mark Meadows. Including a forward of the "how to stop the electoral count" guide. Such a Patriot and an American. We can all be proud of, Jim.

Manchin will NEVER support Build Back Better. Democrats are idiots. They're redoing Obamacare all over again which helped them lose power for 10 years. Stop it.

Biden does seem to be making the same mistake with Manchin and Sinema that Obama made with McConnell. You do not negotiate with terrorists. You force them or you get nowhere.

And how exactly can he force Manchin and Sinema to vote for it? You sound like the clowns on Twitter who say Biden should be forcing Voters Rights Bills. (cause it is always good to force votes you will lose...makes you look like a strong President in whatever world they live in) That isn't how this works.

Those two have zero fear because their futures are locked. Manchin's best chance to be re-elected is to vote against it (cause his constituents are fucking idiots) and Sinema knows the Dems aren't voting for her again in Zona so she is thinking about life after the Senate. Biden can't bribe them or make them fear his wrath. Manchin knows it, Sinema knows it and Biden knows it.

White House says manchin was lying all week. Shocking.

progressives were always right here- he was gonna get all the attention and me me me and then kill it. He’s good with unlimited trillions to military but his toothless constituents are happy others are miserable. And yeah, I’m calling them that as the stat is out on how many of those people don’t have their teeth left. Have fun getting care paid for when you get sick in the coal mines and vote this prick in again

How bout an executive order phasing out coal?

Even if that had any teeth (it wouldn't) it would be reversed as soon as the next president.

You want Manchin to vote for BBB you need more of this: https://twitter.com/MeidasTouch/status/1472676667407564801

Here's video of a self-described 'conservative' Trump voter in West Virginia saying that
@JoeManchinWV
betrayed his voters in the state with his stance on BBB. He says Manchin is doing this for "other people putting money in his pockets" and not the people struggling in WV.

He needs to fear re-election more than ticking off his donors.

I guess we didn't coddle that precious little gift from God senator from West Virginia enough. I am sure the voters will understand.
