Why do they need relief? I think its only 70 or so people that died. That's nothing. 99.99:rolleyes: percent of the Midwest population survived the tornadoes. And after all, since they didn't die, then, no big deal.

Again, why do they need relief?

Subtle. I like it.

My house was pretty severely damaged. I voted for Biden. My neighbors probably voted for Trump, but they came over and started cleaning up debris and downed trees in my backyard, after doing the same in their own yard. Within a couple hours of the sun coming up, people in the neighborhood had sawed through the trees blocking the road, so we could eventually get to a hotel since temperatures dropped last night since our house has no power, and likely won’t for days. I’m going to say they deserve federal relief, along with myself, for the traumatic experience we went through together. We can get back to firing our non-existent AK-47s at each other once our neighborhood is back to normal in a year’s time.

I am of two minds on a response to you psych...like a devil and angel on my shoulder. In the interest of not sounding like a complete dick though I will just say I am glad you are safe. The rest I will keep to myself. (about Republicans)

Thankfully for you and your neighbors (who I am also glad to hear are safe) the Democrats are in charge. :^)

Yes. Luckily, you now have a president and administration who make decisions based on whether there is need, or what the country most needs, and not on whether your state voted for them or not.

Maybe you could drop a few subtle hints to your neighbors.

I have to say, it's leaving a particularly sour taste in my mouth that a state that sends Rand Paul, Mitch, Comer, and Thomas Massie as representatives of their community is now holding out their hands for help.

That said, we're still Americans* and we help each other.

*At least some of us still are.

End of the day, we all knew Biden would immediately send relief because he’s not a Republican who wants to punish the other side.

but I’m so fucking sick of red states that elect these clowns(and not by small margins) holding their hands out them gleefully re-electing these monsters that ruin everything.

glad psych is ok

The only emergency aid I was against the feds providing was for the Texas wildfires a decade or so ago that happened literally months after Texas, under Rick Perry's leadership, cut its state fire prevention force and then asked everyone to pray for rain instead. If Obama had withheld aid at that point, I would've been fine with it.

Beyond that, yeah, not like you can prevent a tornado. And family helps family, even the bigoted crazy uncle who you only see at Thanksgiving. But would it kill you (in the generic GOP sense) to at least feel a little shame and not be a hypocritical asshat while you have your hand out?

Once I’ve got my federal government handout, and they’ve cleaned up my house, I’ll start dropping hints, starting with a “Re-elect Biden for President” yard sign once they come out.
In all seriousness, they’ll never change. Just don’t y’all forget you still have allies behind enemy lines when your taxes come our way. I’m grateful for them.

As someone that is surrounded by the derp, I understand. Glad you're safe.

Oh Massie wants relief for his people after tornado after voting against relief for anyone else.

fuck off. Clean it up yourself, shoot your way out of it and perhaps your constituents can think about who they vote for

It makes sense for Rand Paul to be a hypocrite, voting against it for other states but now asking for help for his state. Remember he is named after Ayn Rand, who died taking welfare after spending her like railing against it for others.

I hope you're ok Psych! I don't know what your town is like, but I saw some of the damage and good god.

I don't care what your voting preference is, we're all American and I'm glad we're coming together on this.

I'm shocked, shocked i tell you, that these people might be the elected representatives involved in overthrowing our government.
